Nominate for deletion edit

This person is not notable. There is only one citation for the article (plus a couple of EL's I have added). The person does not meet the WP:NOTABILITY requirement: "A person is presumed to be notable if he or she has received significant coverage in reliable secondary sources that are independent of the subject. significant coverage". Note: the book he has written is self-published. --KeithbobTalk 18:55, 27 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

I looked it over, and I tend to agree with Keithbob. There is only one reliable reference. DietFoodstamp (talk) 21:18, 3 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Editing edit

Is there someone editing this page who needs that warning? It's been over a year. MrsHComp (talk) 13:44, 19 June 2016 (UTC) Agreed.Reply

User:Smartse You said that -still substantial issues to be addressed- I'd like to take a shot a fixing these if you could specify, thx. T-bird Hawk (talk) 03:35, 8 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

@T-bird Hawk: The article needs a complete rewrite really to ensure everything is verifiable and reliably sourced. From a very brief look:
  • "Milstein worked part-time at a local McDonald's to help support the family while completing high school." = is unverifiable from the source cited.
  • "The bestselling book was generally well received" = unverifiable
  • "The book received several awards for sales and content, including honorable mentions at the San Francisco and New England literary festivals." = unsourced
  • I expect if I were to look further then I would find more. This is the problem with the content created by EBY3221. Then there is also all of the content which isn't actually about him but his companies which should also be removed. Hope that helps. SmartSE (talk) 10:19, 8 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

User:Smartse I bit off more than I can chew so my daughter helped in Word but we ended up with only half the original article? stuff like the guys twitter war and Datsyuk's retirement? It's not in Datsyuks or the player's articles so I figuredit doesn't belong here. I can't figure out the guys other stuff, though it seems like a big deal with the mortgages. Anyway, if you can point me at how to fix this better or if I should undo it - that would be helpful. T-bird Hawk (talk) 04:32, 21 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

@T-bird Hawk: That's a big improvement so thanks for that. I'll need to look at it more closely though when I have more time. Afraid that might take a while and please remind me if I don't get back to you. SmartSE (talk) 10:53, 21 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

-- SmartSE Reminder! I have another question, I am taking a pass now at Alex Delvecchio's article which has one of these tags see if I can get that fixed. Most of the stuff about him is in books not online - is there a place in Wikipedia I can ask for help with this research? My daughter is busy. Thanks. User:Jim1138 As you can see, the overhaul of this article is part of a challenge to get it neutral. I'm not a great editor so please tell me how to do this is sizes that wouldn't cause you to immediately undo it? Thank you. T-bird Hawk (talk) 05:53, 21 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

@T-bird Hawk: A chunk could be a paragraph or sentence. Thanks Jim1138 (talk) 06:37, 21 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
@Jim1138: There is absolutely no need to gain consensus prior to removing content. As I explained above, there were a lot of problems with the article that you reverted to. If you think there is anything particularly important which is now omitted then please replace that rather than reverting the whole edit. SmartSE (talk) 10:53, 21 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

Linkage between Chernobyl and emigration? edit

This passage doesn't make sense to me: Chernobyl nuclear plant blew up 78 miles north of his home in Kyiv, Ukraine, forcing a mandatory evacuation in 1986 and eventually political refugee status. Kyiv was not evacuated. And it did not cause people to become political refugees. What's the linkage of this biography to Chernobyl? ☆ Bri (talk) 01:41, 20 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
