Verifiability edit
Some concerns on this article which need to be addressed are the Verifiability of many facts as they are self-published sources. To resolve these issues we should try to find sources which are not self-published, e.g. not YouTube videos produced by the Nerdcubed Brand. - Alexratman 23:06, 23 October 2019 (UTC)
Further to my comment of Verifiability on the 23rd of October 2019, this has been addressed somewhat. However a lot of the sources that are still being used are directly published by the Nerdcubed Brand on Youtube, or are self-published sources, or are publications which are copying or quoting a tweet by the Nerdcubed Brand. The other repeated source is the published book by Daniel Hardcastle, which was self published by the Nerdcubed Brand through a crowd funding campaign. All contributors should review the Verifiability page before adding content or restoring content which is removed for not being verifiable. I plan to add the Verifiability template to this page to inform new visitors of the lack of verifiability of claims on the page. - Alexratman 07:23, 5 November 2020 (UTC)
A comment was made by user Dmartin969 stating that the self published sources are suitable for this article based on ABOUTSELF. Unfortunately I cannot agree, based on three of the exclusions listed on that page. The material is self-serving, as shown by the fact that Daniel Hardcastle has previously mentioned that his YouTube page was unverified as he was not widely recognised outside of YouTube. Furthermore, there is reasonable doubt as to the sources authenticity; Daniel Hardcastle has repeatedly lied about facts directly related to him in order to make jokes (see the ongoing joke about living in Canada), protect his anonymity and reduce the risk of stalking. Finally, and probably most critical, the article must not be primarily based on such sources. Which in this case it most definitely is, as shown by the sheer number of self published sources used throughout the article. If there isn’t a counter argument presented against this within 7 days I will move forward with reinstating the Verifiability Template to inform visitors of the lack of verifiable information on the page. - Alexratman 15:12, 17 November 2020 (UTC)
Notability edit
I plan to remove the notability template based on the following cirteria:
From WP:anybio(1), "The person has received a well-known and significant award or honour": Times #1 bestseller
From WP:author(3), "The person has created...a significant or well-known work or collective body of work": Wrote a book that reached was a #1 best seller, AND has created a YouTube channel that has over 2.5 million subscirbers and 1 billion views.
From WP:ENTERTAINER(2), "Has a large fan base or a significant "cult" following.": Major YouTube fanbase, which could be considered a cult following.
I feel like based on meeting multiple crieteria present in WP:BIO this individual clearly meets the notability requiremnts.
