The section on USI is inaccurate. The reforms never reached Congress to be defeated, as they were submitted too late. The author has omitted this, and the section includes a lot of weasel words, particularly in regard to the Fianna Fail issue. The "reforms" were drawn up by four Universities, DCU, UCD, TCD and Maynooth, all of which had a Fianna Failer as President. The other Colleges who wanted reform supported "Plan B" drawn up by the likes of ben Archibald, not the "Fianna 4" plan outlined in this article. Lets not re-write history here, folks! 140.203.12.242 18:03, 29 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Democracy and all that jazz... edit

Isn't it the case that DCUSU had a disaffiliation referendum after congress? Their ideas were shot down so they decided to leave, rather than accept a democratic decision of USI Congress?

- No.

Should there be only one link since they are the same? Chris 18:50, 23 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Webhost edit

Until recently (June 2017), this article was tagged for significant cleanup. While some issues remain, it is somewhat improved from previous incarnations. And hence not tagged as heavily as it was. In general, editors (in particular involved or potentially COI editors) might consider the relevant guidelines - to avoid a return to a heavily tagged article. In short, Wikipedia is not meant to mirror/supplement the subject's own website. (Excessive lists of SU members for example were removed for issues with WP:NOTWEBHOST and WP:INDISCRIMINATE. Or what amounted to "minutes" of SU debates were removed for problems relative to the guidelines about the project not being a news source or a publisher of press releases ). Involved editors might want to consider the simple lasting importance or 10 year tests before using the project as a type of messageboard (for airing-of-grievances after a vote on how to fund this year's summer ball). That being said, if involved editors want to contribute any cited and historically relevant content (perhaps for inclusion in a history section) that might improve the article further....
