Private Estate edit

If anybody has any info on the private estate, I think it'd be a good addition. E.g. when was it started, when were the last houses built (I think these may have been the ones next to Emmaus School in about 2002???), how many houses are on it (I've heard its the biggest private development in Europe), are there plans for more houses, info on Stand Farm/shops etc. This could go under a separate heading as many people distinguish Crokkie from Crokkie Park ('The park' being the private estate). Ta

Recent Shooting (2007) edit

Also, I think its important to maintain a clear distinction between Croxteth and 'Croxteth Park', which the media have failed to do in their reporting on the recent tragic events. The majority of 'gang violence' problems have been centred around residents of Croxteth-proper, not the Park estate, although some trouble causers choose to hang around the Park estate (and, when they do, around the shops and Fir Tree pub, where the shooting occured). My thoughts and wishes with the Jones family. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 82.42.179.6 (talk) 00:37, August 24, 2007 (UTC)

I agree, the media incorrectly informed the whole country that Croxteth Park is in fact 'Croxteth' - this is incorrect. The media also portrayed Croxteth Park as 'plagued by gang violence' well maybe in Croxteth, Norris Green etc but not on Croxteth Park. This shooting is the first on the Estate that i know of and i have lived on the estate for 5 years, its a safe, nice place to live.
My thoughts are also with the Jones family - and I am very glad that so far they have chosen to remain on the estate, they have all of our support!!

This is kev - heres my thoughts,... If youre lucky enough to be able to choose where you would like to live then great - that is nice and dont we all want that.

Now however, many such modern aspiring people have today become inflicted by events beyond their control and indeed beyond the control of those that hold the very means whereby they could choose to live where they would like to live. Quite simply, its time to find another way to live other than by relying on a remortgage.

What went wrong isnt new, it was was brought on by the ending of the social housing building solution, the selling off of the silver - the best council houses went first - and the encouraged dream that all can live wherever they aspire. They cant.

Check back as to how and why Croxteth, Norris Green, Huyton, Halewood and Kirkby, etc.. were developed, ie, people have to live somewhere.
