This entire article is simply wrong. edit

There are only six families in the order, Coronatae. http://www.vliz.be/imisdocs/publications/154748.pdf (page 169)

Collaspididae (Haeckel, 1880) has long since been succeeded by Atollidae (Bigelow, 1909), and is no longer used. In any event, listing both a family and its synonym is obviously a contradiction.

Tetraplatidae isn't even a scyphozoan family, it is in the class, Hydrozoa, order, Narcomedusae. Just click on the name in the article, and it links to the wiki hydrozoan page for Tetraplatidae. (see also http://www.marinespecies.org/aphia.php?p=taxdetails&id=394119&from=rss)

Although the word Coronatae stems from the Latin word, coronalis which means crown, great confusion is created by implying that the thirty or so species of this order are called "crown jellyfish". That term is most often used as the common name for the species, Scyphozoa Rhizostomeae Cepheidae Netrostoma setouchianum, completely outside of the order, Coronatae. I would suggest that the title of this article therefore leads to that confusion, and would be better served to be renamed Coronatae, instead of Crown jellyfish. You are entirely right, and I have removed the families that didn't belong. In the future, please feel free to make the change in the article. Regarding the name crown jelly, I've gone for an intermediate solution and added a hatnote, linking people to Cephea and Netrostoma. Arguably, crown jellyfish should be changed into a disambiguation page, but the hatnote should do for now. RN1970 (talk) 23:58, 3 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
