Author cites terrorist anti-Castro organization.

The author cites information from an anti-Castro, terrorist organization known as the Cuban American National Foundation. This organization was responsible for the bombing of hotels in Havana in 1997. One former leader of the organization is Luis Posada Carriles, who was indicted for the 1976 bombing of a Cubana Airlines flight 455, killing all 73 passengers onboard. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Ghostofgushall (talk • contribs) 02:54, 4 May 2007 (UTC).

Other countries

There should be a separate article on CDR in Burkina Faso. Also, I think the name has been use in some other countries as well. --Soman (talk) 07:49, 14 December 2007 (UTC)

Only Criticism?

This article mostly focuses on the criticisms of the CDRs and has very little about the history or origins of them, let alone the argument of proponents of the organizations which see them as community organizations, not tools of repression.

missing data; fake sense of "journalistic balance" a problem

Fantastic that the CDRs organize block parties, medical help and other fun stuff. But for at least some of these activities, non-participation is definitely not allowed, and if you do not participate, you can expect harrassment and even, in some cases, criminal penalties. So the "assistance" is not without some dangerous strings, on which you will not want to pull too hard. I don't see that there is really anything positive about these CDRs, at least in terms of human rights, thus, the attempt at "balance" in the presentation of their role would strike many readers as absurd and foolish, that is, it is fundamentally kowtowing to a dictatorial regime. It is as if Wikipedia, had it existed in 1936, had struggled to point out that the Nazi's Nuremberg laws were in fact doing a great job at allowing the Jews to have their own, special place within the Reich. The CDRs are equivalent to the government spying on its own citizens, and reducing the space of private life effectively to zero. The article should reflect that fact, rather than struggling to be "balanced." Theonemacduff (talk) 03:22, 13 January 2015 (UTC)

Such nonsense should be deleted

Take a look at this sentence "Strong critics such as A. Rivera Caro, a journalist for El Nuevo Herald, trace Fidel Castro's CDR system's origin to the similarly named and directed "committees of territorial vigilance" established by Adolf Hitler in 1935." it should be deleted because of the following reasons: 1)That "journalist" works for a anti-Cuba newspaper accused of using government-paid journalists.(read their Wikipedia page "El Nuevo Herald")So it's not a reliable source. 2)The source is a YouTube video, which is not the best source to cite since it's a kind of self media. 3)Note that there was a "Worker's Party of Germany", does that mean every current Worker's Party can be "traced back" to that far-right ultranationalist party??? Hand picked by Castro?

Under structure it says "Joining the committee is not selective; however, the top leadership of the organization is drawn from a select pool of loyalists at the discretion of Castro." which seems unlikely when Fidel (who it's probably reffering to as the source is from 1994) is dead. Is there any newer, more recent information about that that could replace this? KptStörtebeker (talk) 11:33, 7 June 2021 (UTC)
