Some of the colleges are missing shields. Can someone take care of this? Looking at the history, previous attempts have failed due to apparently legal issues. Could someone generate the remaining shields the way the other shields were generated? - T 09/11/2007 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 131.111.194.10 (talk) 01:06, 9 November 2007 (UTC)

Out of dateEdit

Looking through the references of this page, it appears out of date. For instance, the Fixed assets column uses references dated from 2005, 2006 and 2007. Ref 10, whihc is being used to verify the enrollment figures, doesn't really point to anywhere. Perhaps instead of having a website column, there should be a reference column. The correct pages could then be linked for the correct info ([1] for Christ's College, for example). The enrollment information is also at least a year out of date. Interesting. I hadn't noticed how much this list had been changed since I managed to push to it FL. A number of columns have been added (against my better judgement) and the images have become a gallery (again, against my better judgement). You're also correct that, for [10] at the very least, the references aren't good either. I'll see what I can do, but right now I wouldn't be surprised to see this at FLRC. Cheers. The Rambling Man (talk) 17:33, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
In fact, when I got this list promoted, a much more exact reference was provided for these figures... See this version... The Rambling Man (talk) 17:34, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
I remember reviewing this at the FLC, and some of those columns seemed new, but I wasn't sure. I'll leave it in your good hands; it certainly looked a lot better then compared to now. Matthewedwards :  Chat  18:51, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
Perhaps it's worth running it through FLRC then so we can get a consensus on what's best. I'd hate to remove columns and galleries etc against community consensus. It is certainly a different beast from the one I submitted at FLC... The Rambling Man (talk) 18:55, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
That might be the best thing to do. Would you like me to start it or do you want to? Matthewedwards :  Chat  19:00, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
←Well, it was largely I who added the fixed assets column, getting my information from an online edition of the Varsity (pp. 6-7). I am somewhat disappointed that my efforts should only have led to people contemplating having to delete what I had added or demote the article. Surely some information, even if it is outdated, is better than none? It Is Me Here t / c 18:04, 9 April 2009 (UTC)
Nothing personal, just we seemed to lose some specific references between the time I pushed the list through to FL and right now. Plus the images down the side became a gallery which isn't so good either. When time allows I'll see what we can do. But right now Matthew is right to ask for us to fix up the problems. Out of date information is okay, I suppose, but we should make it up to date if possible. The Rambling Man (talk) 19:18, 9 April 2009 (UTC)
It's still very out of date. The figures for student numbers are quite inaccurate for instance (e.g. Christ's College is listed as having 450 undergraduates and 91 postgraduates, while the figures in the reference 11 are 413 and 224 respectively). At the very least, the column headings should say which academic year they relate to. 131.111.185.76 (talk) 15:46, 8 August 2018 (UTC)

More information!Edit

While the table certainly has some uses, expanding it or creating a second table with additional information would be nice. Hard facts like the Admissions Category (per Cambridge homepage), annual fees and position (in terms a person not studying in Cambridge can understand) as well as soft factors like when the majority of living quarters were built or the formality of the college (commonly associated with the number of times per week there is a high table). All this information is certainly available from the Cambridge homepage, but Wikipedia could provide this on one single page for easy comparison and sorting. Also earlier versions of this page had pictures, I would suggest including a picture of every single college. This is supposed to be an overview page and pictures can be extremely helpful, transmitting a lot of information. --84.178.68.196 (talk) 18:57, 14 February 2010 (UTC)

sizismEdit

the scrunched-in scarf colours vs the 'notes' section look rather disproportionate. OldChurchLady (talk) 00:02, 30 March 2010 (UTC)

Do you think the scarves should be thinner? Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 01:50, 30 March 2010 (UTC)
the scarves are rendered according to our screen resolution and font sizes, right? i just changed mine three times and the scarves always looked rather short compared to the 'notes' box. not sure if making them thinner would make them appear longer and proportional to the notes box. maybe just try to get the colours appear be the right proportion to the length?OldChurchLady (talk) 22:06, 1 April 2010 (UTC)

Inconsistent titlingEdit

Why List_of_colleges_of_the_University_of_Cambridge but Colleges_of_the_University_of_Oxford? Why the “List_of_”? My ‘vote’ is for shortening the Cantab URL. JDAWiseman (talk) 21:16, 12 September 2010 (UTC)

I see what you're saying. The guideline says that list articles typically begin with the word "list", implying it can be done away with, as has happened with several articles (e.g. Table of Ranks), and as the shortened title should still make the subject matter of the article clear, I shall go ahead and move the page unless there are any further objections. Homerton AssetsEdit

Homerton seems to have no data for its assets but here in its official petition for collegiate status it quite clearly sates it has asserts of around £113,000,000 that is point 9 of the petition. This should be amended, as to be more informative an estimate is better than "N/A". http://www.homerton.cam.ac.uk/pdf/draft_petition.pdf

UndoEdit

Hi, so I undid a revision - I would just like to say that this is because the university website specifically uses the word "Mature" (e.g. see here), and an "adult" is in the UK, in effect, anyone aged 18 or over (so not 21, as for mature colleges) - e.g. here a "young person" is defined as someone aged 17 and under; here it is suggested that an "adult" is someone over 18. Thus, the former term is better, in my opinion. It Is Me Here t / c 23:39, 3 February 2011 (UTC)

Fixed AssetsEdit

It appears that whoever typed up the initial Fixed Assets total had no idea what a "Fixed Asset" was. I've been going through the financial statements of several colleges and some of the numbers listed for individual colleges are in fact Total Assets (Fixed + Current) while some others are correct Fixed Assets. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 119.74.75.38 (talkcontribs) 14:58, 27 January 2015 (UTC)
