Image:Clubnintendo.JPG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. Japan Club Nintendo first?

I was reading the section on the Japanese Club Nintendo and it says "It was the first Club Nintendo program to be set up." However, although I cant find any evidence of it right now im almost positive that I read an interview with a Nintendo of Europe PR person from 2003 where they said that some people from Nintendo of Japan had come over to Nintendo of Europe in 2002 to see how they were promoting the newly released GameCube console, and were so impressed with their 'Stars Catalogue' concept (Despite there being only wallpapers and ringtones in the Stars Catalogue at the time) that they recommended the idea to their bosses in Japan, who then released 'Club Nintendo' in Japan shortly after.

Can anybody verify this? I cant find any online article mentioning this fact, but I may have read the interview in a UK magazine called "NGC" so there may not be an online source. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Link83 (talk • contribs) 19:08, 10 September 2009 (UTC)

Its been a couple of months since I posted the above question, so decided to look into this more. I managed to find an article on IGN that says the Japanese Club Nintendo launched in October 2003, which is 18 months after the European Nintendo VIP 24:7 program launched, so I have added this date and reference to the article. I have kept that it was the first Nintendo rewards program to be called Club Nintendo.

I am still convinced I read an article stating that the Japanese Club Nintendo was inspired by the European VIP 24:7/Stars Catalogue program, but without reading through every old magazine I have I dont know of any way to prove this. Perhaps someone in the future can confirm this and find a good reference so it can be added? Link83 (talk) 12:33, 19 November 2009 (UTC)
