Proposed merge with Club Athletico Paulistano (basketball)

The basketball article does not appear to have sufficient notability to justify its own article. It also lacks good WP:RS sources. Ad Orientem (talk) 04:17, 19 January 2014 (UTC)

Paulistano basketball is a Brazilian first division side, thus meritorious enough for an own article. Understanding Brazilian basketball, representations there are also subject to mergers and name changes, which may cause issues in the future. Also, the target audiences for both articles are largely different. Therefore, leave as is. OAlexander (talk) 08:28, 3 March 2014 (UTC)

I disagree with the merge. The basketball team is currently playing the final of the Brazilian league. It is an important team for the Brazilian basketball and has enough information to have its own article. Two good examples to compare with are the Esporte Clube Pinheiros and Minas Tênis Clube, which also have professional sports teams Pedro 16:48, 28 May 2014 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pcgomes (talk • contribs)
