Just start class, really, until it covers more of the context and reaction. See Unam sanctam, Pope Boniface VIII, and Philip IV of France for starters and for sources. At minimum, the article needs to cover the late 1296 bull Ineffabilis amor and February 1297 bull Romana mater ecclesia in between the challenge and the complete cave, where Boniface tried to get away with first suggesting he'd approve any requested taxes in this instance and then allowing "voluntary" "donations" from national clergy in times of emergency determined by the king. — LlywelynII 06:15, 4 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
