Talk:Clear Labs

Latest comment: 5 years ago by Mark Bajus at Clear Labs in topic Funding update

Hi, Nicole! Threw in some copy edits for clarity. I think this article could be strengthened significantly by more discussion of the results of the three tests - what is listed on the packages that doesn't show up in the food? What are the health risks involved in the stuff that IS in there? Just linking to other wikipedia articles on this (like bacterial infections from certain meats) would help a lot. I added the expansion tag to the technology section too - it could be broken down in more detail so somebody with no experience with DNA testing can understand. Which strands are they looking for? There are probably other Wiki articles on this too. Finally, I'm certain some newspapers have covered Clear Labs - there are definitely sources that cite Clear Labs' work and discuss it as it relates to the public and the big picture of food safety. Here's one from Vox. This is a great start though. All of the important big-picture stuff is laid out pretty clearly. Just needs a little more flesh! Happy editing. To follow Rroberie (talk), adding additional content (and especially sources) is a good suggestion, but also be careful you don't slip into original research if the sources aren't there to support any claims you make. -Reagle (talk) 13:38, 4 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Draft

edit

Hi. My name is Mark Bajus, and I work at Clear Labs. The current article seems very long and promotional. It uses language like “platform,” includes non-notable certifications, and has dedicated sections for different Clear Labs products. It also covers our thought-leadership reports extensively in the “Food Reports” section, whereas typically a company’s publications are not considered a major encyclopedic part of their profile.

I would like to propose an improved trimmed down version of the article located here. As I have a conflict of interest, I am prodding for feedback on the suggested changes from disinterested editors.

Just as an additional note, I also support the edit. Well done User:Mark Bajus at Clear Labs for a clear disclosure and very much improved article. T.Shafee(Evo&Evo)talk 03:48, 7 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Funding update

edit

I would like to propose after the sentence “a $16 million Series B funding round” we add another sentence “This was followed by another $21 million round in October 2018. [1]” Pinging Evolution and evolvability and Natureium, who participated in the article previously. Mark Bajus at Clear Labs (talk) 21:31, 29 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
