Removal of content edit

Please explain the removal of the following content:

In a leaked letter, he threatened Nigeria's Foreign Affairs Minister Ojo Maduekwe, investigating government waste at the Nigerian Embassy,[1] saying "...I have dealt with people like you in the past. I was the Adjutant General of the Nigerian army that thoroughly defeated your rag-tag Biafran army..."[2] Such discussions of the civil war are generally taboo in modern Nigeria, and elicited much public discussion.[3][4][5][6][7] In addition, Oluwole Rotimi is facing a lawsuit alleging slander from a Nigerian lawyer in the United States.[8]

And in the lead:

Cleared of latter charges of corruption while in power, Oluwole Rotimi became Nigerian Ambassador to the United States in 2007. In 2009 he was removed from office after leaked letters to the Foreign Minister of Nigeria revealed a deep personal conflict between the two.

I see two problems here: 1) not talking about the major focus of press coverage of this individual seems like whitewashing. It also falls into the common trap that changing Wikipedia will somehow change reality. It won't. 2)The lead should include all the major headings discussed.

Please discuss your changes, and use the edit summary. I'm not going to get into an Wikipedia:Edit war with you over this, but if we can't discuss this, we can get third opinions on this, and they can decide what is reasonable here. T L Miles (talk) 16:17, 21 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
