More factual information on "Christopher Gist, the Explorer", edit

Not much in your historical writings mention his son Thomas Gist. I am related through Thomas Gist's only known child Elizabeth Johnson Gist who married Andrew McCune (born in Ireland). This family moved to the what is now the Louisville, Ky area, helping settle Kentucky and further on across the River to Indiana. There are numerous law suits of record in PA and Kentucky relevant to the Property owned by Christopher Gist "The Explorer". The Gist Plantation property is currently owned by Penn State University as a satellite campus. Thomas Gist and his sister and Thomas's daughter lived in that property together. Some of the references out there are letters from George Washington who would occasionally drop by for visits with the family when he was traveling through the area. As I've said there are also numerous law suite between Elizabeth Johnson Gist McCune and her Uncle, the brother of Christopher Gist (the Explorer) that provide further documentation that might be interesting. PS there is also a Document which is a Journal created by Thomas Gist (my 5th g grandfather) of a trip he made down the Mississippi River to New Orleans. I was able to see the original Journal at Princeton University Library. As I was thumbing through this ancient document written by my 5th g grandfather I turned a page and written at the top of a blank page was his little daughter's name and date of her birth (It is not found in in other document I've found)also he referred to three other children which were Cromwell Children (they were related), he gave those children's names and dates of birth also. This document is not allowed to be shared with anyone without the express permission of the Family who donated them. To be quite honest that document should have come through my end of the family but when Thomas Gist died, his Sister took that document and other with her to her Brother's house in Kentucky. information provided by Susan Mulledy DeFrank 47.149.130.65 (talk) 22:05, 22 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
