Some suggestions for improvement as the article is expanded:

Template:Infobox Scientist should be added
Photograph or portrait should be added from a source with a free license, if available. Alternatively an image of a plant associated with him might be added
Some basic biographical information required, including education details
Article needs expanding and should emphasise reasons for notability of subject
After expansion, article should be divided into appropriate subheadings
Information on research should be expanded
A complete list of works in a separate section might be useful
References should be expanded and preferably converted to inline format
External links to useful online resources should be added if available
