Mornington Train Ride
editThe Crowther/Stewpot theme music was a slightly speed-up 'muzak'-style scat vocal of Mornington Train Ride (referring to the Mornington Peninsula in Australia). I think Peter, Paul and Mary did the most well-known version. As for the most popular songs, all Stewpot ever seemed to play was Hello Muddah Hello Faddah and that iritating Cockney Allo Darlin hurgh-urgh-urghhew link. - Wrong! It is called Morningtown Ride referring to sleep as a ride to morning. The composer Malvina Reynolds was American and did not know an Australian group would sing it seven years later. JMcC (talk) 03:20, 24 September 2014 (UTC)
Split
editIt was Children's Favourites only for 11 years but Junior Choice for 17 years - and most recently. Moreover the first show was in a totally different era of radio prior to the "modernisation" of BBC radio. I suspect also that the formats were sufficiently different to merit a split.Pingu7931 (talk) 22:15, 14 February 2014 (UTC)
- Agree Splitting would be acceptable, though the current single article does provide a narrative of how the BBC changed. JMcC (talk) 03:16, 24 September 2014 (UTC)
