Misspelling edit
Is this person's name really spelled like that? The biography link seems to suggest so... PaladinWhite 22:43, 11 April 2007 (UTC)

- In English, the double-f is a special case, and shouldn't be capitalised (although some modern-day holders of such surnames do, especially now databases are set up to automatically capitalise). Other examples are fforbes (eg. Audrey fforbes-Hamilton from To the Manor Born), fforde (eg Arthur fforde). Gwinva 07:26, 23 May 2007 (UTC)
- The double-f actually was originally a capital F; in secretary hand, the capital F looks identical to a double-f, so capital F was often misinterpreted as ff, and this was preserved in some surnames even after secretary hand fell into disuse. Vorziblix (talk) 05:40, 20 September 2014 (UTC)
