Winston Churchill as Chancellor of the ExchequerChancellorship of Winston Churchill – Consistency with titles found in Category:British Chancellorships, i.e. Chancellorship of George Osborne, Chancellorship of Gordon Brown. Opening discussion as I am not sure if such conciseness will introduce any potential confusion. – robertsky (talk) 09:25, 9 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

  • Weak Oppose. I see the consistency argument. But there are multiple offices of states with "Chancellor" in the title, most notably the "Lord Chancellor", the head of the judiciary, a government ministerial office which has been of great prominence historically (much more than it is now). There may be a modern assumption that "chancellor" usually refers to "of the exchequer" rather than "lord chancellor", given the shift in their relative prominence in the post-war period, but I'd be reluctant to apply that backwards. • Support per nom. If used for the Lord Chancellor, I think it would always be "Lord Chancellorship". And given Churchill was never Lord Chancellor there's no ambiguity in any case. -- Necrothesp (talk) 12:58, 12 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
  • Support per nom. The current name is clunky. Shwcz (talk) 10:40, 16 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
