Must add CPEC comparison edit

Since there is a massive amount of information about this single port and the amount of Indian media hype surrounding about how its a counter to CPEC there needs to be a CPEC section. 2A02:C7D:14FC:C600:A4E6:A3F:C283:FD91 (talk) 15:47, 29 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

This discussion is already ongoing at Talk:China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. No need to duplicate it here. Please note that it is the not the purpose of Wikipedia to counter any "hype" happening anywhere. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 16:46, 29 May 2016 (UTC)Reply
I think I should add more CPEC information its actually vital I will need some time to collect information but it needs to be added. 2A02:C7D:14FC:C600:A4E6:A3F:C283:FD91 (talk) 17:46, 29 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

By the way, the "massive amount of information" is mostly an instance of WP:RECENTISM. It will be mostly gone when I finish revising it. I don't think anything about CPEC belongs here, but a comparison with Gwadar Port will certainly be useful. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 17:58, 29 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Baloch protest edit

Link to diff

Kautilya3 with all due respect I have shown that the video is from Al Ekhbariya news channel. The protest is in London outside Iranian embassay. YouTube video can cited if it is from a news channel. And the news channel is Al Ekhbariya. Could you tell me what am I doing wrong? Thanks for taking your time and reading my comment 82.178.181.245 (talk) 21:51, 22 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

There are several problems here. Youtube is only the tip of the iceberg. Youtube is not allowed because it is not a reliable channel of publication. It is also a problem that it is not in English. So other editors can't review it and verify the content. If you wait for a couple of days, there might be print news that cover the protest. Then we can revisit the issue. If no print news channel covers it then it is presumably not newsworthy and it would be wrong to cover it here.
Moe importantly, this is a news item, not an encyclopedic item. To cover the subject here, you need to find reliable sources that cover in detail what the Baloch grievances are with respect to Chabahar. A one-line section does nobody any good.
Pinging LouisAragon for a third opinion. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 22:46, 22 June 2016 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, I basically completely concur with every point Kautilya mentioned. - LouisAragon (talk) 01:42, 25 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Distance from Gwadar Port edit

The article mentioned that the distance with Gwadar port is merely 72 km. It is wrong. The direct distance (as the crow flies) is about 170 km. (Driving distance much more, but we will not mention it.) I have fixed this in the article. Khestwol (talk) 07:18, 22 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Unfortunately, 72km is well-sourced (Jaffrelot), even though I admit it is hard to believe. Please feel free to find another source. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 11:24, 22 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Intro espionage edit

No need for last para of intro, please move it around somewhere more suitable or remove it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 103.214.119.20 (talk) 06:20, 20 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Operated by whom? edit

There is a mistake here. The infobox states that Iran is managing the port and there's the Iranian flag. But the article states that India has been managing it since 2018.103.246.36.31 (talk) 08:02, 25 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

The article states what exactly? -- Kautilya3 (talk) 09:53, 25 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
You can see for yourself. Please read the opening paragraph.103.246.36.31 (talk) 00:46, 26 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
