Nationality

edit

Could this actor's nationality be addressed? He was a native of South Africa, made films in Australia and, for a short time, in Hollywood. Would you say he was an Australian actor or a South African actor? Courtland 00:07, 2005 Mar 25 (UTC)

I would think that given his place of birth, he is a South African actor who starred in Australian and American films.Kp.murphy (talk) 16:40, 1 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
Agree. But one thing he was not was British, yet he's categorised as such. I'm changing that. -- Jack of Oz [your turn] 13:02, 22 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

What happened?

edit

What happened to this article? There was a lot more to it, as I remember, references to some of his roles, references to Edmund Gwenn, his brother Alec Kellaway, etc. They seem to have all disappeared from the history. Orbicle 23:08, 24 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Also, he is in Season 1, episode 20 (Elegy) of "The Twilight Zone", but there is no reference to that on the page. See http://watchseries.cr/series/the-twilight-zone/season/1/episode/20 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.58.125.57 (talk) 00:12, 4 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

DOB

edit

Added bio ref from the Australian Dictionary of Biography, supports middle name and 1890 birth year. This seems to be the most reliable ref. The 1893 birth year seems to be in BFI's database only, so could chalk that up to a typo, given that 1890 appears in other, less-reliable, sources e.g. IMDB. I double-checked the 1890 date when it was first added as well and came to the same conclusion. In addition, although not considered a reliable source, there's a photo of his grave marker on Findagrave.com that very clearly shows an 1890 DOB. --Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 13:59, 2 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Middle name

edit

Middle name spelled Lawriston as per actor's petition (# 175514) for naturalization as a US citizen (ancestry.com), which gives year of birth as 1890. Quis separabit? 16:53, 28 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
