Re: municipal table

Ping participants of the previous discussion at Talk:Cebu/Archives/2021/March: @Johnuniq, Jonesey95, Wbm1058, JohnBlackburne, and P199:

Regarding the table of municipal-LGUs or local-government units of Cebu (cities and municipalities), I have a suggestion. Perhaps follow the format at Pampanga#Administrative divisions. In its current form, the table for Cebu has needless or unnecessary columns that aren't relevant to most common readers.

The municipal table for Cebu contains
  • PSGC
  • City or Municipality
  • Population (for the last two censuses)
  • ±% p.a.
  • Area
  • PD (population density)
  • Electorate
  • (Congressional) Dist(rict)
  • Climate
The municipal table for Pampanga has far fewer and concise informations
  • City or municipality
  • (Congressional) District
  • Population (for last two censuses)
  • ±% p.a.
  • Area
  • Density
  • (Number of) Barangay(/s)
  • Coordinates

My suggestion is to limit the presented informations for Cebuano municipal-level LGUs to the following per column:

  • City or municipality
  • District
  • Population (for the last two censuses)
  • ±% p.a.
  • Area
  • (Population) density
  • Number of barangays

The PSGC (Philippine Standard Geographic Code), the climate, the electorate, and the coordinates are not needed; besides, the table only provides the basic overview of the cities and municipalities, and more details are best inserted at the individual articles of the municipalities.

Hope my suggestion helps. JWilz12345 (Talk|Contrib's.) 18:36, 12 August 2021 (UTC)

@Johnuniq, Jonesey95, Wbm1058, JohnBlackburne, P199, and Satu Katja: Info: I've restored the table, still using the same template. But I removed columns that invoke "Electorate", "Dist", and "Climate" columns, hopefully there will be least chances of script errors. It appears {{PH town table}} relies on Wikidata, and it is supported by templates like {{PH town table/bottom}}, {{PH town table/bottom5}}, {{PH town table/mid}}, {{PH town table/mid5}}, {{PH town table/top}}, {{PH town table/topL2}}, and {{PH town table/topU2}}. I cannot find a way to remove the needless PSGC column as it seems to be integrated in one of the supporting templates. PSGC information comes from Wikidata and not from the article itself. Thanks. It's still slow to show a preview on edit with CPU time usage 10.8 seconds and Lua time usage 7.7 seconds. However, it's working. I believe the PSGC column could be removed by removing the first parameter (such as |072201000) from the table, and editing {{PH town table}} and {{PH town table/mid}} to not use that. That would involve seeing where else those templates are used and adjusting. Johnuniq (talk) 08:27, 21 November 2021 (UTC)
@Johnuniq: I discontinued it. It just caused error messages like: Formatting error: invalid input when rounding%, The ID "13556" is unknown to the system. Please use a valid entity ID., and Expression error: Unrecognized word "true". I aborted my change at the template. JWilz12345 (Talk|Contrib's.) 12:53, 21 November 2021 (UTC)
I might get around to looking at that later. I guess you are aware that a request at WT:WPT or WP:VPT would get a result. Johnuniq (talk) 22:01, 21 November 2021 (UTC)
