Affilation of ASN edit

I need a little help in determining if the various affilations ASN currently is a part of (CTV, A-Channel, and Citytv) are all secondary or otherwise. MapleLeafFan04 17:08, 20 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

At this point I would say none. While it's certainly worth noting it carries programming from all of these, it's no more an affiliate than NTV is an affiliate of Global (the present consensus there is that it's independent). — stickguy (:^›)— home - talk - 12:35, 21 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Adding info edit

I think it's important to add the point that all cabe companies in Atlantic Canada are required to carry ASN on basic cable. I would add it myself, but I am not 100% sure of this but I do believe that it is true. 70.31.137.12 23:26, 27 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Actually, and interestingly, they aren't. A sample condition of licence for EastLink Halifax: "The licensee is authorized to distribute, at its option, the programming service Atlantic Satellite Network (ASN), received via satellite, provided that it is distributed on an unrestricted channel of the basic service." (emphasis added) [1] As far as I know, it's the same in the rest of Atlantic Canada. — stickguy (:^›)— || talk || 02:44, 28 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
Interesting, I was always under the impression that it was mandatory for all cable distributers to carry it on basic cable. Apparently not then, lol 74.109.62.238 19:27, 3 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

What's with "Aviation Security" on ASN? edit

Did someone fiddle around with the logo? -DanCBJMS via 134.117.168.237 03:58, 18 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Market templates edit

Nine different market templates is far too many to have on a single article. The whole thing needs to be rethought, stat. Bearcat 08:51, 26 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Off-air between 3am and 5/6am? edit

It appears that the station (both the Halifax and Sydney transmitters at least) stop broadcasting for about 2-3 hours between 3am and 5/6am, airing just an SMPTE pattern with the 'A' logo in the lower left-hand corner. Does anyone have any idea why, and maybe perhaps it should be added to the article. --142.177.228.85 (talk) 07:08, 23 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Affiliation with CJCH-DT edit

Why is ASN listed as independent for the majority of its' history? ASN now CTV Two Atlantic, has been an affiliate of CJCH-DT since its' launch in 1983! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.89.230.101 (talk) 05:27, 3 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
