Beijing and Shanghai
editBeijing and Shanghai are seperately listed in the article for two reasons. 1. Beijing and Shanghai are the municipalities of China, not belonging to any province. 2. There are two universities involved in C9 League in these two cities. Other cities has only one. --Poppopsun (talk) 11:29, 14 March 2012 (UTC)
universities rank
editThe universities are ranked in alphabetical order. --Poppopsun (talk) 21:55, 13 March 2012 (UTC)
years founded
editI've added the dates of foundation back. A prior edit removed them under the guise that they were redundant. Under that logic though the municipalities should also be removed. Most other articles involving universities also include the dates in the charts. 219.76.231.209 (talk) 04:01, 29 April 2011 (UTC)Drew An example being http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Group_of_Thirteen —Preceding unsigned comment added by 219.76.231.209 (talk) 05:09, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
I've readded back the dates of foundation. To the person removing the dates stating they were redundant, other articles detailing university groups such as http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ivy_league or http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Group_of_Thirteen . Please discuss before removing the dates again. 219.76.231.209 (talk) 01:43, 22 August 2011 (UTC)Drew

- Please refer to Project 985 and other articles. Some things you do not know are common sense to Chinese. Poppopsun (talk) 17:33, 27 July 2012 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, "common sense" is not a verifiable source. What is "common sense" to you may be unacceptable to someone else. Wikipedia requires that all facts are verifiable. Thank you for accepting this principle.TippTopp (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 22:05, 13 April 2013 (UTC)
Analogies
editIs C9 really analogous to the Russell Group, for example? C9 was set up by the Chinese government explicitly to fund the best universities of China and promote Chinese research. The Russell group was set up by the universities themselves to lobby the British government on behalf of the larger universities in the UK. It is not a league table, and among the things they have lobbied for are higher student fees and exemption form freedom of information requests. Furthermore, the 1994 group of smaller universities outperform the Russell Group, with the exception of Oxbridge and Imperial. Triangl (talk) 08:06, 4 April 2016 (UTC)
