I added the {POV} and {Peacock} tags. The following is just one example of the present article's wording - " While there were some who tried to get him to record, his difficult personality made that impossible - once again, he was his own worst enemy - in spite of his immense talent and importance. As a result, his reputation has once again grown, ...". The article is also almost completely unreferenced. Can someone, who knows the subject matter, attempt some much needed sub-editing and reference sourcing. Thank you,

Since Allmusic have changed the syntax of their URLs, 1 link(s) used in the article do not work anymore and can't be migrated automatically. Please use the search option on http://www.allmusic.com to find the new location of the linked Allmusic article(s) and fix the link(s) accordingly, prefereably by using the {{Allmusic}} template. If a new location cannot be found, the link(s) should be removed. This applies to the following external links:

removing POV tag with no active discussion per Template:POV

edit

I've removed an old neutrality tag from this page that appears to have no active discussion per the instructions at Template:POV:

This template is not meant to be a permanent resident on any article. Remove this template whenever:
  1. There is consensus on the talkpage or the NPOV Noticeboard that the issue has been resolved
  2. It is not clear what the neutrality issue is, and no satisfactory explanation has been given
  3. In the absence of any discussion, or if the discussion has become dormant.

Since there's no evidence of ongoing discussion, I'm removing the tag for now. If discussion is continuing and I've failed to see it, however, please feel free to restore the template and continue to address the issues. Thanks to everybody working on this one! -- Khazar2 (talk) 01:05, 27 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

I have resurrected the tag, hoping that other editors may contribute. The article is full of opinion, and sadly rather short of references. Here's hoping... - Derek R Bullamore (talk) 10:57, 23 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Overhaul, templates changed.

edit

I've reworked portions of the article to maintain a more neutral POV. I think it's appropriate to remove the fanpov and peacock templates and have gone ahead and done so. If you think this is premature, please respond here and let me know what additional issues you feel should be addressed. I'll work to fix them. Alternately, you can fix them yourself.

I split up the Biography section into several subheadings. It was quite a long block of text and I think the subheadings help with readability. I also added a couple of additional sources along the way.

I added the lead extra info template. I question whether some of the info in the lead should just be deleted. I modified it to take a more objective tone but it's still not ideal.

There is a decent amount of info out there on this guy. It should be very possible to get more sources cited in this article.

Thanks for reading! Skeletor3000 (talk) 16:40, 13 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
