Orphan film speculation edit

I removed the bit about how this was an influence for the movie Orphan. There are no quotes or anything to support this, so right now it's just a matter of "This seems similar to me!!" & doesn't belong on wikipedia. I looked on the internet & I saw nothing to back this claim up so I removed it & will continue to remove it. Tokyogirl79 (talk) 12:58, 19 July 2009 (UTC)Tokyogirl79Reply

Again, unless you have proof as to these claims I will continue to revert this. Yes the two are similar but IT IS NOT BASED ON HER LIFE. We need either a quote from the makers of the film or something in order to list it on this page. You can't claim it without proof. Otherwise it's just one person's opinion. It's entirely possible that the script writer came up with this all on his or her lonesome & had never heard of Ms. Stewart. Until we hear otherwise we have to assume that the film has not used this as a reference. Tokyogirl79 (talk) 10:25, 20 July 2009 (UTC)Tokyogirl79Reply
The site posted is NOT a viable source. That is someone posting their speculation on the IMDB site & is not a verifiable source. A good source would be an article where the script writer or production staff stated that they used her as a source for the movie. Please review the article WP:V if you are not familiar with what a real source is supposed to be like. Tokyogirl79 (talk) 11:04, 25 July 2009 (UTC)Tokyogirl79Reply
Removed unsourced claims that Orphan was based on the TT case. It could have easily been based off of several different things and to my knowledge Stewart never had this disease. Opinions and theories don't belong on wikipedia. And as of 9/12/09 there was nothing on the IMDB page about Stewart being an inspiration to the movie and if there was it was removed because there is no proof besides someone's opinion to back it up. FYI, I recommend against adding it onto IMDB and claiming that it's "proof" enough to go on. MeekoFTW (talk) 15:38, 12 September 2009 (UTC)MeekoFTWReply

Law & Order claims edit

I went & researched both episodes that were listed as being "based" on the Stewart case. Neither episode has anything that even remotely resembles the Thorneberry case in it. The only thing they have in common is that they have to do with people that are somewhat highschool age. (There is another episode in SVU that more resembles the case, but I see that wasn't posted.) Please do not post anything here based on your speculations. Speculations are not appropriate for wikipedia. If you want to post speculations, do so on your own page or on a private website. This is not the place for such claims. Tokyogirl79 (talk) 11:16, 25 July 2009 (UTC)Tokyogirl79Reply

Actually, I did a little research & it seems like the L&O stuff does appear to be close enough to Brianna Stewart to warrant saying that it's similar. Dunno why they'd choose to do two episodes based on her with the time periods being so far apart, but that's showbiz for you. MeekoFTW (talk) 15:35, 24 September 2009 (UTC)MeekoFTWReply

Reversion war edit

Look, I don't want to get into a reversion war over this. It's not worth it. But I do think that the "claims" on the IMDB site being a good site is very flawed. Anyone can input "facts" into the IMDB site. I could post that the movie appeared to be related to the JonBenet Ramsey murder or something far more farfetched. By the logic given by one user that would make my "fact" worthy of being posted on Wikipedia. Personally I still think that unless it's verified by a real source it shouldn't be posted, but I'm willing to say that it APPEARS to have been a factor in the movie & show. You can't say that it is a loosely fictionalized variant of the case- that just isn't the case here. Thorneberry never killed anyone & she never hurt anyone physically. She made a bunch of accusations & conned the state out of money. Orphan is not based off of Thorneberry. The most that could be claimed is that it appears to have been a possible inspiration for the writer. Tokyogirl79 (talk) 21:27, 25 July 2009 (UTC)Tokyogirl79Reply

No need for extra pics edit

We don't need this many pictures of Thorneberry. One is more than sufficient & you don't see this many pictures on many of the bigger, more fleshed out articles for other living people. I left a few up since they are nice pictures, but honestly... there's no need for so many, especially when they're so easily found off wikipedia. We really only need one image to show what she looks like and even then, that's not always a necessity. Please don't post unnecessary things. Posting information edit

I've removed some information that directed people to contact a place that Throneberry frequented while claiming to be Brianna Stewart. I would like to politely request that this information and anything similar not be added to either the main page or this talk page. Posting things in that manner could lead to the person or organization getting harassed for their association with Throneberry, which is unacceptable. Even if it was done with the idea that people could support them, that's still considered to be an unacceptable use of the talk page. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 06:38, 21 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

  • I've removed it again. DO NOT re-add the information. Not only is it OR, but you are posting it with the clear intent to cause harm against Throneberry and/or the church. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 03:27, 3 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Strongly POV edit

This article takes a strong position in favor of Throneberry being knowingly deceptive and not delusional -- a question that is quite contested. It appears to have a strong animus against its subject. Nareek (talk) 18:56, 1 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
