According to the Newport RFC website, Brian Scrivens was born in Weston-super-Mare. However, according to FreeBMD the only birth of a Brian Scrivens around his Newport RFC given birth date of 1 September 1937 was registered during July→September 1937 in Hammersmith (London) district (mother's maiden name Taylor). There are a couple of other male Scrivens registered around this time, with either a middle name beginning with 'B', or no middle name given, i.e. Joseph B. Scrivens birth registered during January→March 1938 in Bilston (Staffordshire) district (mother's maiden name Massey), and Robert Scrivens birth registered during January→March 1938 in Penistone (Yorkshire) district (mother's maiden name Bramall), so none of these are near Weston-super-Mare, nor Newport, Wales, but are any of these Brian Scrivens?
