Not sure if being #17 in Canada (at least among credit unions) is significant enough to merit keeping, but if so, I'd think we could stand keeping this one. No big deal if it doesn't, though. They do have 38,000 members and $1.8 billion in assets, so they are certainly well known in the regional area.

--- NSCU is the 8th largest in BC and a significant contributor to the credit union system in the province. A little research into the contributions NSCU has made would be worth the time.

Credit unions are an interesting alternative to traditional banks, and it would be worthwhile having more information about specific examples here in Canada. Canadians are notable, worldwide, for their high rate of credit union membership. Credit unions, too, are pioneers in corporate social responsibility, including environmental and community orientation. The NSCU is no exception in this regard, and serves several communities (Bowen Island, for example) that no other financial institution will pay attention to.

--- Yes, BC has significant credit union membership levels with 1 in 3 people in BC banking with a credit union.
