"Formally"? edit

It's both. It was "formally" known by the name Dr. L. Bernice MacNaughton Highschool. Now it is "formally" known as Bernice MacNaughton High School. That means it was the formal name since the student body used to use the shortened form LBMHS (now BMHS). It is also "formerly" as the name nolonger includes the full title. NPOV edit

Let's just say that I'm affiliated with the school. Speaking of musicals, I don't think that Broadway meets the Bard should count as a musical. Broadway Meets the Bard edit

I agree that "Broadway Meets the Bard" is not a musical but the administration considers it a musical so on this page it will be put as one of our musicals. As far as West Side Story not counting. Yes, BMHS was formally known as Dr. L. Bernice MacNaughton High School before it was known as just Bernice MacNaughton High School. And before it was a High School, it was known as Bernice Macnaughton Institute of Science and Technology.

Motto edit

It's already on the page, "wia". I added it as a footnote in the Infobox Education in Canada template. If you look in that template, you can see an asterix by Qui valet sustinet, and it takes you to the bottom of the infobox, where it is stated in small text that it means "I hope in God". Legacy Left edit

I changed Legacy Left to include some "fact" content. I feel it is an important section, as it speaks of those individuals who worked on the initial development of the school. The previous section lacked any real factual information more seemed more like an opinion and generalization, than tangible fact. In this section, these mentioned individuals actually worked of the development of the school (it has been documented). The previous section stating that the Legacy Left is one solely by the school's Student Council and students, because of their "...athletic talent, or theatrical gusto..." is more of a personal view than it is fact, as its doesn't speak of anything tangible, nor does it include any real information, but is rather a generalization. The only issue I think many have, is the use of the word Legacy, as it is often confused with being something of "greatness". This actually isn't the case. Despite the cliché use of the word over time, in this case, it refers merely to what has been done and passed on. On a side note: I can understand someone saying that these students all leave their "marks" on this school's history...that goes without saying...but we must keep feelings opinions to a minimum as this is an these articles should be fact based. Neutrality of the article edit

After reviewing this article several times, and comparing it to several others, I feel it does an acceptable job of being "neutral", as each section displays facts along with useful information. I feel it is virtually impossible to have an article completely free of bias (most articles found have a detectible "hint" of bias), as this is this article is open to public editing. Given the nature of Wiki. (which is relatively authoritative, but has a flexible, less strict, somewhat laid back approach), this article is completely acceptable, as none of its content clouds the "point" of the article. Also, I feel it is not entirely fair to state that this acticle does not site its sources, as many of sources are "common knowledge" among the editing community. An example of this can be found in the various extra curricular activities that are said to be offered at the school. No complete list of them is published, but those with a good knowledge of the school know of their existance. These sections should be interpreted as general "good to know" info and not fact. More Problems edit

I fixed a lot of problems on the BMHS page. However, there are still some grammatical inconsistancies. Some sentances sentences Yvesnimmo 16:11, 30 April 2007 (UTC) are written in the passive voice, while others are not worded very well. If anyone would like to work on this, feel free to do so. Cultural Ambassador edit

I have no knowledge of what the "Cultural Ambassador" is, nor do many of the people I talk to (who are involved with the school). It might be some kind of independent student or class creation. The school always has new clubs, groups and positions (especially in student government) popping up. It's hard to say exactly what it involves, but it obviously promotes diversity... One thing I can say is that the school often accepts exchange students, and in the past, there were groups (sometimes only one person, but most of the times more) delegated to looking after their needs in school and were loosely responsible for informing others about their origins and culture (as well as teaching the exchange students about our cultures). There is a good chance this "Cultural Ambassador" has something to, as they were talking about making it an actual position with a title within the school's government for a few years. ...yeah, you're right, it should be in with the other external links...I think "whomever??" stuck it in the middle, in order to get a little more traffic, which is understandable, when they're at the bottom, it's easy to not notice them. ..oh, and Ayumu Kasug, I see you are an "Admin" for MacNaughton's forum...very cool. I used to be among the few that were suppose to take care of the old, "make shift" bulletin and post board B. Mac students used to use (which is no longer around), but I gave up on it almost right from the beginning...was just too big of a pain. The forum looks great, Are you getting any help from school staff?...perhaps Mr. Cormier?...because the whole site has a Cormier vibe (although he vowed to me that he would stop getting involved with it cause it was too time consuming). I had help from one student setting up the forums. Everything else was my work (except the skin). I installed all the scripts, edited all the forums (after all, karate5662 only created all the forums. I had to go in and set all the settings and permissions. So yeah you could say no staff help at all. Oh, and the bmhsforums.com thing is in my name, according to enom.com (http://whois.enom.com/), just incase you're wondering. One last thing.   1. has really bad spelling;
  2. is careless; or,
  3. is up to no good and wants to vandalize Wikipedia.
Plus, adding the [sic] makes it look more professional, don't you think?

Yearbook edit

MacNaughton has had full color pages in their year book long before 2006. 2003's was in color (albeit not every single page). a little history.... edit

in 2001 (the Gr. 10 year for the most senior students), students were uprooted from BHMS to attend classes at RMS (Riverview Middle in Riverview NB), while major construction presumed at MacNaughton. Despite using RMS facilities, students were under the direction of BMHS staff, operating completely independently from RMS, which included all administrative matters as well. For shop, broad-based technology, and classes requiring access to large computer labs, students were bussed to either Bessborough or Edith Cavell, depending on the course(s) they were taking. Much like the year prior, students were broken up into 2 groups, A & B; each with it's own group of teachers. This division continued while at RMS. Although fire delayed construction, students were still able to finish the year at MacNaughton's own facilities (albeit in uncompleted facilities). I'm sorry, but what makes you feel the names are not notable? I think you're a bit off base in whipping out a rather significant fact, just because perhaps you weren't around during the school's formative years. Those individuals worked hard, and helped raise a lot of money, and even worked with gov't members so that their community's school could be what it ended up being. Major changes arouse from that improvement plan, as it was the among the overhauls of any school in the province at the time. So much so, that the city/province changed St.George, a busy and well established street, by putting intersection there to help accommodate parents etc who were fighting with early morning traffic. The school might have a copy of the final school improvement plan, but if not, the DEC does. And remember, just because it's not online, doesn't mean it doesn't exist. I know where to find a copy.
