Can someone please upload pictures. Can someone please add the part about the Benagli marriage done in West Bengal. Thanks

  • Arent there Hindu marriages in Bangaladesh and Muslim marriages in West Bengal which count as Bengali marriage?

As per my knowledge Bengali Marriage as depicted in this article is describes only one aspect of it as performed in Bangladesh. Can some please edit it to include ceremonies from India as well?

  • Support The two topics overlap such that one can only be considered within the context of the other. Not yet a need for a separate article. ClaretAsh 05:59, 4 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose each part of Bengali marriage can have its own article an main article may be written in summary style! --Tito Dutta 17:16, 23 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Proposed merge with Bengali Hindu wedding edit

Both the articles are about the same topic. Bengali Hindu Wedding, as an article, has abysmal quality and will be much better served by just merging and adding the relevant information into a section of the original Soni (talk) 18:12, 5 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

Proposed merge with Bengali Hindu wedding as Bengali Wedding edit

Bengali Muslims and Hindus have lots of similar and different wedding ritual which would be easy and clearly describe in one single article named ″Bengali Wedding″. even Bengali buddhist and christian wedding and slightly different ritual in Bangladesh and West bengal could be written welly here . no need a loading wiki with similar article with same topic and scope.—2A0A:A540:B6D4:0:F8A8:EE9E:D014:8B13 (talk) 22:24, 21 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

  • Support-It is odd to divide wedding by religion for people who share the same ethnicity, culture, and race. The differences and subtleties can be explained in one article.Vinegarymass911 (talk) 13:42, 6 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
Oppose on the grounds that Muslim and Hindu weddings are independently notable and distinct topics. They do seem to share some feature in Bengal, but I don't think that the religious differences between them are trivial. Klbrain (talk) 14:23, 21 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
Closing, given the uncontested objection and stale discussion. Klbrain (talk) 12:27, 17 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose - Bengali Muslims and Hindus indeed have similar marriage ceremonies. But they have vastly different significance behind those rituals. So merging the two will not be a good idea. Both are unique and beautiful in their own ways and should stand uniquely. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tithi.sarkar (talkcontribs) 12:41, 1 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Opinionated and unnecessary addition edit

"Other rituals such as engagement party, bachelor night, bridal shower, haldi, mehendi, rong khela, sangeet, aai buro vaat, biddai, receptions etc are from past Hindu inspired Bangla culture, hindi show influence or done inspired by western media. The most appropriate kind of any Muslim marriage is just the Nikkah."

This section of this article is unnessary and frankly is a projection of the authors own opinion regarding the sanctity of a Muslim marriage and should promptly be removed. Al Gofran Orin (talk) 14:43, 16 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
