This should link to Itagaki's JAwiki article

edit

@Boyohboy231: Because Paru Itagaki does not have his own ENwiki article, this article should state how Itagaki's name is written in Japanese and link to the JAwiki article. If/when he gets his own ENwiki article, it would be okay to remove the ill template.

If you believe Paru Itagaki is unlikely to ever qualify for an Enwiki article, there may be a way to disable the redlink. (because Beastars won some awards, I can see an argument that Itagaki is a distinguished enough manga artist to warrant an article)

English Dub

edit

When will Beastars premiere in the English Dub? What will the dubbing company be? I know it'll be on Netflix? 104.3.132.111 (talk) 04:29, 3 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Legosi vs Legoshi

edit

The official manga translation uses Legoshi instead of Legosi for the main character. Would this be worth changing in the article? Gistech (talk) 17:56, 4 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

This should be on WikiProject Furry

edit

If Zootopia is a mid-importance article on WikiProject Furry, this is at least a low-importance article on there. - Preceding signed comment added by ya boi BEEFITRON (talk) 00:09, 11 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Does Riz's drug cause aggression, or reduce it?

edit

Riz's description currently says: "However, the drug's side effects cause him to suffer from headaches and uncontrollable bouts of aggression, and it was during one of these seizures that he devoured ... Tem." I've only watched the anime, in which I believe the drug is said to reduce aggression (and strength), and it's only because Riz stops taking the drug that he becomes aggressive and eats Tem. Are these details different between the manga and the anime, or is the article incorrect? ` Brian Kendig (talk) 00:32, 22 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

  • I'm fairly certain that the drugs reduce his strength rather than his aggression. According to the Beastars Fandom Wiki, "Riz was suffering from bad side effects caused by government-mandated medication for bears that was limiting his strength." [1] He also said that he wanted to show his "true self" at one point in the anime. Of course, I could be wrong. I'll do more research and update this if needed. feeqls (talk) 00:46, 30 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Split character section

edit

The characters section is currently very long and should be split into its own article, namely List of Beastars characters. See MOS:MANGA#Characters for more information on character sections. This discussion is about what to include in the section after it is copied over. SWinxy (talk) 01:12, 10 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

I support your claim in separating the characters into a different page. I already added some headings to sort the characters into their respectful categories. --Rtkat3 (talk) 23:42, 20 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
As of 20 November there is a draft: Draft:List of Beastars Characters which was submitted and declined. One comment at Teahouse is that as the characters are not subjects of separate articles, having a list article is not recommended. I will add that the Beastars article with a character list is not exceedingly long, which also argues against the need for a separate article. David notMD (talk) 03:20, 21 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
I think a standalone list is not the right solution, per the following section of the Wikipedia guidelines: WP:Manual of Style/Writing about fiction#Summary style approach. Instead, I think there is potential to condense/shorten the section: there might be some unnecessary detail in the character descriptions, I also saw some unattributed interpretation/opinion in there which should be removed, and perhaps some related characters' paragraphs could be combined into a bullet-point list?
I have added a {{too long}} template to the section, and recommend that the {{split}} template be removed, given the guidance in WP:LISTN and the mentioned section of Wikipedia's manual of style. Kind regards from PJvanMill)talk( 19:53, 1 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
