I thought that Beacon Street starts at Tremont Street. At least this was buildings are numbered. Solarapex 15:13, 30 June 2007 (UTC)
- Good point. I wonder if there are historical reasons not to have the street start at Tremont, or if the numbering starts over in Brookline (I don't recall that). Otherwise it should be changed.EECavazos 17:07, 30 June 2007 (UTC)
This article was so helpful, I never realised that there was only one 'Beacon Street' in the world. It is this kind of article that makes Wikipedia such a great source of comedy material.

Good start... edit
...I guess. But this article is still at stub level. It needs to be turned into an article. We are talking about one of the most historic thoroughfares in the nation.
- Wiki's classifying this topic as "Low importance" is a joke. It ought to be promoted to, say, medium importance.
- As usual, I came to Wikipedia for one of the most fundamental facts, the length of Beacon Street, and it's not even here. On Google Maps, I measure it at something over 9 miles. You can provide a more exact length.
- You say that past Kenmore Sq., it skirts an entity. It does no such thing. It runs in practically a straight line from the State House to Cleveland Circle.
- You say it passes—literally, through—the Boston Univ. campus. It does no such thing. You are describing Commonwealth Ave. Are there even any B.U. buildings on Beacon St.?
- You may want to add more landmarks located on Beacon St., although you've made a good start. But I mean, you should mention a bit about some of the famous people who lived on Beacon St.—Isabella Stewart Gardner; Oliver Wendell Holmes, Sr. and Jr.; Julia Ward Howe; and Henry Cabot Lodge, to name but five.
- Also, you'll want to delve a bit into how Beacon Street was built atop Boston's earlier Mill Dam, and how it was part of the Commonwealth's grand Back Bay landfill program. And mention the man who laid out Back Bay, Arthur Gilman; yadda yadda.
- This topic is being hijacked in Wiki's search field. If you begin to type 'Beacon Street...', the first entry on the popdown list is some minor topic whose first two words merely happen to be 'Beacon Street'. Topic 'Beacon Street' should of course be the first listing. I don't know offhand how you change that; if I knew I'd do it myself.
