Loan to Shakespeare's company

edit

The reference to Barnes lending money gratis to Shakespeare's company seems to be derived from a book published 1888, and no contemporary Elizabethan source is cited. Lending money interest-free to an acting company would be quite unusual in Elizabethan times (or any times really) and yet this is not mentioned in the DNB article on Barnes. Does anyone have any further information on this alleged loan?RLamb (talk) 06:08, 28 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
