Pound sign linkage and symbol
editThe symbol ₤ is non-standard for pounds sterling and £ is the Wikpedia Manual of Style preferred usage. I have consequently replaced ₤ with £.
Linkage of currency symbols is not normally appropriate for £ or $ - because they are self-explanatory in the context of articles which are wholly UK or US based - but as this article relates to an Australisan subject, linkage of '£' makes sense.
- I note that the linkage is now to the Australian pound page - this is a great edit - thanks! Very useful.MarkyMarkD (talk) 08:50, 26 October 2008 (UTC)
Remove text

Can the following line be removed from the text of "inside the bunker"
The Bankstown Bunker was an exact replica of the underground Ops rooms of wartime England, which directed Britain's air defence fighter plane attacks on the invading German Luftwaffe.
This is incorrect, I know a few books say this but this is simply not true, granted, the bunker is "similar" in appearance, for example there is pictures and designs of a "fighter command" in london:

Could you please remove as quote is incorrect and misleading122.106.112.55 (talk) 10:34, 30 June 2009 (UTC)
- This information is referenced, I believe the reference said virtual replica. I could probably upload a screen shot of the reference later. Unless we find a reference that says that it is not a replica it should stay. Adam (talk) 22:07, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
Location
editComparison of the photo of the remote receiving station (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/3/39/Bankstown01.jpg) and Google Earth (sorry; no link), specifically comparing the Remote Receiving station in this photo, indicates the location of the station is not as described in the text. My belief is that it is under the area in the vicinity of Sandakan Rd and Alamein Rd.
If you agree, please amend the text.
Apologies as I do not currently have a Wiki account.
