  • This article does not promote the magazine but explains its origins and purpose.
  • It explains how it helps the Hispanic community in the state.
  • The article follows the basic layout of most magazine articles within Wikipedia.
  • In no way is there any implication of advertisement or promotion.

Please explain in detail Wuhwuzdat, why this article is promoting itself. I have examined many other Spanish Magazine articles written within Wikipedia and find this to be very informative and encyclopedic. Wpeluna (talk) 07:24, 13 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Please note that on Wikipedia, Articles for Deletion are judged on their own merit and not in comparison to other articles - see WP:OTHERSTUFF. -FASTILY (TALK) 07:30, 13 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
I agree, although maybe the "content" section may be promotional there is some potentially useful content here. However it is unclear whether the magazine is notable enough for an article (according to the notability guidelines) as it lacks reliable sources. snigbrook (talk) 16:45, 13 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
I have rewritten this article for those who had concerns regarding notability and reliable sources. With notability, I have researched the fact that this Hispanic magazine is, according to a number of sources, one of the largest Hispanic publications in the Intermountain West, which includes California, Arizona, Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Utah. Also notable is the public’s reaction and media coverage over this magazine in regards to the Immigration issue. Through my research, it is to this publishers opinion that this article meets all notability and reliable sources objectives. wpeluna 04:04, 30 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
  • This article does meet notability standards – I have to agree with Wpeluna in that although Wiki declares that “articles are judged on their own merits and “not” in comparison to other articles,” judgment of an article without some basis of guide is purely subjective - this is further discussion for Wikipedia policies and guidelines. Lest I digress further, the question of whether this article may be promotional is also subjective, but I don't see it. How can an article be written about its “magazine content” if it doesn’t illustrate some of the magazine's own articles? This is a Magazine which reports news and opinions. Lastly, in reviewing articles that cover media, viz: magazines, newspapers, URL’s and etc. there is a question to why another media would cover or write about a competitor and how Wiki creators are expected to find sources covering a competing media. In other words, if I were Time Magazine, why would I want to give any ink time or promotion to the Wall Street Journal, U.S. News & World Report or Newsweek when they are my competitors – thus, where does a Wiki creator find sources on Media that will suffice notability? As Editors – these are questions we need to be sensitive to when editing Wikipedia articles. erb64 05:18, 30 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
