Hi, In the movie, Hotel Rwanda, Augustin is potrayed as a corrupt and rather brutal person who did nothing to stop the atrocities/genocide but does not appear to suggest that he had any direct involvement in committing or ordering others to commit these crimes. In fact, he is shown to save the characters at various times thanks to the efforts of Paul, who mentioned that he is being potrayed as a war criminal in the west. Some merit of this potrayal needs to be made here or in the Hotel Rwanda article IMHO. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 60.234.141.76 (talk • contribs) .

Erm, according to the IMDB entry for Hotel Rwanda, General Bizimana was not portrayed in Hotel Rwanda. I believe the person concerned was Augustin Bizimungu.

That said, though I don't have the clearest memory of Hotel Rwanda, I don't recall the portrayal of the general as being quite so "sympathetic" (if being merely corrupt, brutal, and only passively genocidal can be said to be sympathetic).

If this quasi-sympathetic portrayal did happen -- and I imagine one could find out conclusively from the book -- then I agree that this should be mentioned in the article. --Saforrest 23:08, 28 February 2006 (UTC)
