Births and deaths edit

I've removed entries for a number of people who have few or no articles in other language wikipedias and thus not internationally well known. This makes the section more manageable. See Days of Year Project talk pages. Those that have been removed have been transferred to the relevant Year in Topic articles, where possible. Deb (talk) 10:49, 19 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

John Tyler edit

I am hesitant to remove other people's input without good cause, but the entry for 1841, "U.S. President John Tyler vetoes a bill which called for the re-establishment of the Second Bank of the United States. Enraged Whig Party members riot outside the White House in the most violent demonstration on White House grounds in U.S. history" has several problems. First, the assertion that Whigs rioted on the grounds of the White House seems unsubstantiated by anything in Wikipedia that I've been able to find. See, Tyler's National Bank Controversy. Second, even if the Whigs were rioting, what are the criteria for determining which demonstration on the White House grounds was the most violent? I would recommend this anniversary be trimmed to include the bit about the veto, not the demonstration. Eltrace (talk) 13:35, 16 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
