Evaluation of This Article edit

The article is a good start. For starters, it covers plenty of ground both geographically and chronologically. That being said, sources for information in this article needs to be cited. Most of the references cited only refer to Japanese and Filipino sections. Now if the sources could be cited for the other sections as well that would be fantastic! As for another thing, some of the references either don't work or aren't necessary. The link to the Alex Elgee article doesn't work, and the last link to the Ice Cube Entertainment website is completely unnecessary. With that being said, the article does a great job being neutral and is very informative. Hopefully this article continues to expand, possibly even to add a section just for Asian American Hip Hop. --Nrazon2 (talk) 06:21, 17 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

I am currently working on a new version of this article, unfortunately many of the pages are under developed, or in the case of Pinoy hip hop made by overzealous fans.Filmman3000 (talk) 07:21, 22 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

Update, early 2018 state of affair edit

Hello, I just made an update to the page. When I found out Taiwan was missing, and that almost nothing was said about US Asian rapper who actually had some success, I knew something was wrong. As I clicked away I found that the Philippines were the earliest ones to do that form of art and the article should start with them, the previous article gave the impression China started, while mentioning someone from Taiwan. Hence I fixed the chronology and intent to continue in the coming weeks. It is a subject matter that I specialize only in one element of it and do not know much about the rest.

From my observation many articles about Asian Rap are under developed or extremely badly written and make this article very difficult to follow through. Hence in many case I have to write "cont. 1990s to present day" in case of some countries. I feel it is unfair because some countries have continuous evolution, but I have no choice either when the article about the country is poorly written or lacks of information, when the articles become easy to follow through this should change. Furthermore, some countries are missing, I am aware Thailand has a hip hop scene. Anyways hope my contribution give a good guideline for future contributors. Thanks.Filmman3000 (talk) 17:08, 22 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

Finished my contributions but the article is far from finished edit

As I have said in my post above "Update, early 2018 state of affair", that some the problems are due to the quality of the article for the respective country. Another big problem is that contributors do not add the names of new artist per generation. What I mean is that I would find a name of an artist here but not in the page of respective country. Hence if an article about a rapper new Asian rapper or old and notable it must be added here and in the respective page of his country. I may return to this article but right now it gave me a headache especially after reading half of the Pinoy hip hop page, who's in dire state, so I won't cover the "2010s". I must say I am happy of my contribution, because I have learnt a lot on the subject matter.Filmman3000 (talk) 00:16, 23 February 2018 (UTC)Reply
