Prohormone

Incorrect usage of terms: The section called Prohormone use is actually about the use of anabolic steriods. It specifically named steriods such as dianabol. Prohormones and steriods are different things as steriods are artificial hormones and prohormones are steriod precursors which are converted into steriods by the body. They were not banned in 1990, the prohormone ban did not come into effect until 2005. Source: http://www.bodybuildbid.com/articles/newsevents/2004/prohormoneban.html

Change birth place

He was born in the small town of Thal, Austria and not in Graz as the headline of the article says. It does already exist an article about Thal so it is not necessary to show the wrong birth place. Please correct this.

Controversy

Arnold recently met with many hispanic leaders in the city of Los Angeles, he publicly stated that hispanics "need to turn of their spanish T.V." in order to learn english much faster and succeed in the United States. Spanish broadcasting organization Univision made a public statement showing their dissagreement with the governors statements. Many already predict that this run of events will eventually lead to a media frenzy in part of the spanish networks in search of hurting Arnolds political career much like in the case of Don Imus

No offense but.....what is this a subpage to the article? Come on add to the discussion not just post news articles without signing.--Amadscientist 11:25, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

Links repeatedly removed/added

Notice that a lot of Unofficial external links have been removed recently on the grounds that they are spam advert links. Most notably TheArnoldFans.com (which i believe is in part endorsed by Schwarzenegger) and GlobalArnold.com. I personally do not believe that any website that holds up to the Google adsense guidelines or has far more content than adverts should be removed on the grounds as being a 'spam link'. 80.193.166.70 23:59, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

These sites fail under the criteria outlined at WP:EL. Thanks. Yankees76 05:45, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
That Wiki article also says under what should be linked, 'Sites with other meaningful, relevant content that is not suitable for inclusion in an article, such as reviews and interviews'. I believe a site such as TheArnoldFans.com falls directly under this. Despite having a couple of ads per page, it is by no means a site 'that primarily exist to sell products or services', and its 'objectionable amounts of advertising' as far as I know has only been questioned by you personally.(80.193.166.70 23:15, 5 February 2007 (UTC))
You forgot - "Any site that does not provide a unique resource beyond what the article would contain if it became a Featured article", "Any site that misleads the reader by use of factually inaccurate material or unverifiable research. See Reliable sources", "Links to sites that primarily exist to sell products or services", and "Links to blogs and personal webpages, except those written by a recognized authority." How is this [1] relevant to be linked from an encyclopedia? It is not Wikipedia's purpose to include a comprehensive list of external links related to each topic. No page should be linked from a Wikipedia article unless its inclusion is justified. If the site or page to which you want to link includes information that is not yet a part of the article, consider using it as a source first. Thanks. Yankees76 03:45, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
I had not read those last couple of 'news items' on that site. I can see what you mean by these violating Wiki's terms. Having said this, whenever I have viewed this site in the past, the vast proportion of its content was relevant to Arnold Schwarzenegger and non commercial. I suspect that the writers of the site's material are in fact genuinely interested in the products they seem to promoting, but it does seems there is a 'sales' agenda which I now appreciate violates the 'external link' rules. Thanks for the reply. (80.193.166.70 00:33, 7 February 2007 (UTC))
Thanks for understanding. While not worth of an external link, I do agree that it is cool site for buying T2 memorabilia, figurines and other Arnold-related material. Yankees76 16:59, 7 February 2007 (UTC)

Arnold lives where

I've heard that Arnold dosn't live in Sacramento, is this true and if so, where does he live?

I believe he lives in Brentwood with his family. --Sli723 23:28, 3 April 2007 (UTC)
The State of Cailfornia currently does not have a Governors mansion or residence. When in Sacramento Swarzenegger stays at the Hyatt Hotel across from the Capital Building. For state function the newly refurbished Stanford House is used. --Amadscientist 22:34, 26 June 2007 (UTC)

Confusion about Birthplace

There are two birth places listed in the article. this is physically impossible, as we all know, and I request that it be fixed. -zim64

Height

Can we agree on a source for his true height? It keeps getting edited, deleted, re added. Thanks, Jaskemr 22:07, 31 December 2006 (UTC)

It's announced on Pumping Iron as 6'2" right as he heads up to pose along with his weight. That might be self reported though. I notice a lot of the weights and measurements are inflated throughout the documentary (saying he has 23 inch arms when Arnold later says only 22).
  • There is no official height, no internmational measuring body which checks the height of all celebrities throughout their lives. Their is the height Schwarzenegger gives, 6'2", but many suspect this to be inflated, an in any event people get shorter as they get older. - Matthew238 23:20, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
What people 'suspect' is not encyclopedic and has no place here. We need to compile a list of heights pulled from verifiable sources and go from there. IMDB lists Arnold as 6'2", as does USA Today [2]. The Washington Post says 5'10 [3]. Perhaps someone can make a table where various heights and sources can be listed. Yankees76 15:04, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
Not really, as it's not a reliable source by Wikipedia standards. Even the site itself admits it's based on gossip and fan photos. Yankees76 19:38, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
  • True, but I thought it might have links or references. - Matthew238 03:24, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
  • Added a reference to an article published on his height by the Chicago reader. As 'height sites' which focus on Mr. Schwarzenegger's height are highly relevent to his 'height' as a topic, these have been included as references also. I consider these to be neutral (both sites state so) and relevent enough to add as trivia. If you disagree, please consider discussing this or flagging this for deletion by a certified moderator in accordance with Wikipedia rules. Thankyou.(Joberth 20:52, 19 February 2007 (UTC))
For the record, as per WP:LIVING (please read it), "Editors should remove any controversial material about living persons that is either unsourced, relies upon sources that do not meet standards specified in Wikipedia:Reliable sources, or is a conjectural interpretation of a source." In short anyone - not just an administrator - can aggressively remove unsourced/unverified statements in the biographies of living people. As it stands I re-wrote your text, removing weasel words that made the issue more notable than it really is. If this topic was a "much debated" topic during this election as you claim, I would expect a better source than a gossip column in the Chicago Reader. I also don't beleive that Celebheights.com meets the standards specified in Wikipedia:Reliable sources either and I've tagged it as such. Yankees76 22:09, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
If you check my original edit [4] then you'll see that I only extended what was already there, along with an additional reference. I do admit that 'fascination' (which I did write) might be considered a weasel word, hence why I removed it when re-adding the paragraph in my last edit. Thanks for pointing out WP:LIVING, as I had overlooked it previously. Also, thanks for discussing this and being both understanding and diplomatic in your response. As far as I see it, a mention of his height in the article is very similar in relevance to the article as 'allegations of misconduct' except on a much smaller scale. By presenting the public's (and publication's) view on his 'image', the article does not damage Mr. Schwarzenegger's credibility, but instead allows readers to consider the evidence (or indeed non-evidence) for themselves. I'm hoping that this trivia will reduce the amount of edits to his height (it keeps jumping anywhere between 5'11" and 6'2") and perhaps will be improved on to the point that there will be no question over the credibility whatever sources it ends up using. Should an administrator or popular opinion consider that it has no place in the article then fair enough, but I am a big believer in second opinions. (Joberth 23:37, 19 February 2007 (UTC))
The material is better (but not perfect) as it is now by attributing the "height controversy" to a specific source. I was more concerned about making sweeping statements with one source who's reliability is questionable: a gossip column in the Chicago Reader - which is an alternative weekly - a type of weekly newspaper that eschews comprehensive coverage of general news in favor of opinionated reviews and columns, investigations into edgy topics and magazine-style feature stories highlighting local people and culture.
Had this been an Associated Press article or if his height was a the topic of controversy on CNN, you'd not get any changes. However, when numerous reliable sources list him at 6'2", putting material that claims otherwise needs to be verifiable under WP:VERIFY - which as it stands right now is weak at best. Any reader should be able to check that material added to Wikipedia has already been published by a reliable source. The Chicago Reader and Celebheights.com are dubious sources - meaning that they are sources with a poor reputation for fact-checking or with no fact-checking facilities or editorial oversight. Yankees76 04:03, 20 February 2007 (UTC)
Yankees76, I've once again updated this section with the intention of providing somewhat more credible sources. I welcome any comments you might have concerning them. Although I know they're far from perfect, I personally think they are an improvement. E.g Daily Mail - British National Tabloid (an improvement over Chicago Reader perhaps?) as quoted from Nigel Andrews unnofficial biography on Schwarzenegger, The National Conference of State Legislatures, San Francisco Gate (website with ties to San Francisco Chronicle). Incidently with your mention of CNN, I found an article from a couple of years back [5] when a mention is made that the troops found Arnold to be 'smaller' than they expected. It may be that this is more about his weight than height though. (Joberth 00:13, 21 February 2007 (UTC))
Looks good to me. I agree that in the CNN article the troops are referring to his muscular size - not his height, and incidentally the CNN article refers to him as 6'2". Yankees76 03:43, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
Sacramento Bee article about the "controversy": http://dwb.sacbee.com/content/politics/recall/story/7640209p-8580625c.html The reporter cites a representative of Schwarzenegger.com (Arnold's official site) as saying the 6'2" figure is outdated, and it should be 6'. Arnold was probably 6'2" (or at least 6'1 1/2") when he started his acting career, but has shrank (as do all men) over the years. Swartzenegger.com, btw, no longer seems to have a height figure listed anywhere. Tafinucane 20:16, 7 June 2007 (UTC)

A good family of mine designed arnolds winter holiday house and he is only 5'4" and hey hey, arnold is SHORTER than he is.

Arnold a racist

"Arnold is arguably a racist having made racist comments in interviews against Hispanos (even called them "brownies")and most of his actions against Hispanos as Governor" No citation is issued except in the page edit section and even then, the page links to an article that seems to be awfuly biased, comparing him to Hitler for instance, and doesn't really seem to cite where they really received this information. Does this really belong as trivia? --Wolfman Walt 01:24, 31 January 2007 (UTC)

Unsourced negative material on biogrpahies of living people should be deleted on sight. See WP:LIVING. Yankees76 04:43, 31 January 2007 (UTC)

Japanese Beer Commercials

Anyone else know if he was actually in these commercials or just a lookalike? Should this be added as trivia? Look alike? That was 100% ARNOLD. The voice, the physical shape, the facial expression. That was Arnold Schwarznegger, no doubt. Otherwise, I think he would get kinda upset about them using his likeness to sell their products.

Profession?

The comments in the sidebar say not to add "Politician" to Arnold's list of professions. Why is this? Quite clearly, that's his current job. Obviously this has come up before, so either not listing politician has his professsion is a bad idea, or we need to make some clear explanation in those comments on why we're ignoring his current profession. --Don Sowell 17:17, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

Schwarzenegger Posed for Gay Physique Magazine

Just as his bodybuilding career was beginning to take off, Schwarzenegger posed for a "physique" magazine in Great Britain in 1965-66 that was popular with gay men. Although Schwarzenegger is not gay, he apparently was willing to show off his already massive muscular build for perhaps a small fee and to gain wider recognition. The magazine where his photo appears is Male Classics, issue #36 (late 1965 or early 1966). The photo itself appears on page 32. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by David Walinski (talkcontribs) 04:50, 1 April 2007 (UTC).

Not true. Footage of him posing was edited into a gay porn movie. This never saw public release due to the obvious legal issues. The man behind this 'porn film' was former Gold's Gym owner Ken Sprague. 80.193.166.70 16:14, 9 April 2007 (UTC)

According to an individual named Alan Stang, Schwarzenegger used to pose nude for gay magazines. He provides one example: the February, 1977 issue of After Dark.[6] Part of the cover can be seen on this page. __meco 22:27, 10 November 2007 (UTC)

Work

Hello ladies and gents. Took a bit of an interest in this article. I know its listed as a good article, but it needs a lot of work. I have actually added intresting info which adds and develops the article already - fully cited stuff. I aim to continue that, where relevant - so I will actively help.

Take this section for example, it has not one citation, for a biograhpy of such a high-profile subject, this is all weasel words, right? I say that in good faith, it does seem to be a big problem. "His dad was a Nazi" - no citation??!! Maybe he was. But you know. Anyhow.

Following his arrival as a Hollywood superstar, he made a number of successful films: Commando (1985), Raw Deal (1986), The Running Man (1987), and Red Heat (1988). In Predator (1987), another successful film, Schwarzenegger led a cast which included future Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura (Ventura also appears in Running Man as well as in the film Batman & Robin which Schwarzenegger also starred in) and future Kentucky Gubernatorial Candidate Sonny Landham. Twins, (1988) a comedy with Danny DeVito, was a change of pace. Total Recall (1990), at that time the most expensive film ever, netted Schwarzenegger $10 million and 15% of the gross, and was, although violent, a widely praised, thought-provoking science-fiction script (based on the Phillip K. Dick short story We Can Remember It for You Wholesale) behind his usual violent action. Kindergarten Cop (1990) was another comedy.

Raw Deal? A successful film? $16.2M (USA). Moderate flop, even in 1986. Red Heat? $35M (USA) Thats around 60-70 now? The Running Man? $38.1M (USA)? Its just someones opinion. Cobra made $49m for stallone in 86 - anyone ever seen it? He didnt really have a true $200m "blockbuster" until Twins in 88. Considering the guy and what hes done (controversially or not) - who gives a toss that Jesse Ventura was in Batman and Robin? And the running man? Who said Total Recall was "thought-provoking", i've read mixed reviews for that film in respected media etc, althought I would agree it was generally well-received at the time. Good strong citations are needed in line with policy. Of course i'll help, as I am doing. Lots of good stuff if you dig a bit. Whataboutbob 18:23, 17 April 2007 (UTC)

Removed some Unofficial external links

I’ve removed many of the external links in this article. I thing most would agree?! There were far too many --- which added nothing. Just crap really. I took a little time to look at them and have left the links which best fit the wikipedia policy. “Notable interest” etc. It wasn’t just random, that’s no good, its gone! It was with some pain to delete the New York Times link, but what is going on with them, they now charge for their content! Even very recent content! Does this article for example need a link to E! online biography? These articles are supposed to be “self contained” as much a possible, so I’m doing a load of work to make this whole article better: content wise - and have been doing so for a while now. Please anyone, feel free to debate this.Whataboutbob 22:05, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

There were a few “galleries” – how many do you have? They were all fan sites with poor quality. BUT! This one, in my opinion was worth keeping, very much so.

Good article review

This article has been delisted from being a good article following a review because although the first part of the article is good, from Political career onwards there are problems with referencing and prose. In particular, statistics, some quotes, and critical commentary on Schwarzenegger's career is uncited. There was also a concern that the article relies too much on schwarzenegger.com. the good article criteria identified as being problematic in this article are 1a (clarity), 1b (WP:LEAD), 2b (inline, reliable, citations), 2c (original research), and 4 (neutrality). Please continue to improve the article and try again for GA when you feel that these criteria are met. -Malkinann 01:14, 16 June 2007 (UTC)

schwarzenegger.com

I feel very strongly that the above comment "the article relies too much on schwarzenegger.com" is misleading and means bugger all to be honest. The information taken from the official cite is either "basic facts" - or quotes taken from Arnold which have relevance to the section in question and have been checked for biasism etc. Most of the basic facts are taken from a section called "timeline", which does exactly that: it details basic facts and events through his life. Basic facts and a few very interesting quotes. If you take a small amount of time to look you will see this. I've been trying to improve this article with good content and good referencing.Whataboutbob 19:29, 22 June 2007 (UTC)

---Ive got a huge amount of research from a mountain of sources that im working on which will balance the above percieved problem out.Just takes time. Whataboutbob 19:36, 22 June 2007 (UTC)

You might like to look at Wikipedia:Biographies_of_living_persons#Using_the_subject_as_a_self-published_source for why the use of schwarzenegger.com was questioned in the review. When you feel the article is ready, you might like to look over the review text again to double-check that everything's been addressed and then renominate. :) -Malkinann 07:08, 30 June 2007 (UTC)

Height Under Bodybuilding Sidebar Needs Correction

Despite popular belief, he is actually no taller than 6 feet, in fact he is likely an inch or two under. [14][25]

Neither citation supports this assertion. The first citation lists his height at 6' 2". The second citation lists his height as 6' 1.5" to 6' 2".

What about his education?

The summary/quick facts box at the top right of the article lists his "alma mater" as "the University of Wisconsin-Superior," yet there is no reference whatsoever in the biography of Arnold spending any time at all in Wisconsin. Did he receive a degree? Did he attend physically or by mail correspondance? The only reference to his education in the article was to his briefly attending "business school" while he was living and training in Munich. Was that the kind of "business school" where secretaries learn shorthand, or was it an institute of higher learning where one can earn an M.B.A? Why is this issue always sidestepped and deemphasized by Arnold and his "organization?" I suspect that the governor of the largest State in the U.S. really has no formal education, which is apalling in this day and age. His notoriety and "business success" have been built largely on his physique and poor but comedic (originally unintended but later cashed in on) acting skills. His rise to power has basically been the result of the Hollywood luck of being in the right place at the right time--during America's 80's and 90's obsession with kitchy action films. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 72.235.43.121 (talk)

Headline text

I was asked if he had a colege degree; I found it interesting that, with his stand on education, it's not mentioned in the article.

You make it sound as if having a college degree automatically means one is educated. You also make it sound as if the only legitimate education is a college education.

You mispelled college.

Do you have a college degree? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.212.53.119 (talk) 06:29, August 27, 2007 (UTC)

Environmentalism

We hear quite a lot over here (UK) about Arnie as Governor being highly supportive of environmental measures, however there's nothing about it here. If anybody knows more, could they add something about this? WikiReaderer 16:09, 10 August 2007 (UTC)

npov

I don't know enough about the guy, but it is almost beyond that he has got his republican cronnies and hoodlums to hijack the wikipedia discussion page to make him look more cool. So, perhaps a warning or something should be issued, before the article, for how can you separate the non NPOV people (with a baised/pro-Arnold agenda) from those just tyring to enlighten the world?? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 150.101.167.238 (talk) 00:39, 5 September 2007 (UTC)

Birthplace vandalism

I took out what seemed to be pretty obvious vandalism saying he was born in [North Korea] and put in Thal. I took that information from the sidebar, but North Korea was right out. Otumeal 04:02, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

order of precedence?

can we please get rid of this template at the bottom? it seems to have no real significance, and placing it next to things like the list of previous/future governors and such grossly inflates its relevance. Benwing 04:21, 26 September 2007 (UTC)

Not really that conservative

I would really like a section discussing his moderate political views that are more compatible with democrats than republicans. He's concerned about the environment, and he's concerned about a health care system that's universal and effective. Also, although he's opposed teachers and nurses with his initiatives, his opposition really was to their entrenched political powerblock.

Schwarzenegger's acting career is on hiatus!

From the article:

His latest film appearances included a cameo (3 second) appearance in The Rundown (aka 'Welcome to the Jungle') with The Rock and the 2004 remake of Around the World in 80 Days, notable for featuring him on-screen with action star Jackie Chan for the first time.

Schwarzenegger's acting career was put on hiatus after he won the 2003 California recall election on October 7, 2003. His last appearance in a movie was in 2004's Around The World in 80 Days, which was actually filmed in 2003, before the recall election. I maintain that because of this fact, Schwarzenegger is no longer active as an actor.

Therefore, I am going to go ahead and undo the reversion of my revision by Yankees76. Please state any objections to my course of action below. Thank you! Citizen Dick 11:49, 6 October 2007 (UTC)

Please provide a verifiable source that says he is no longer considered an actor - otherwise posting 2003 is original research. Is there a source that shows he is no longer a member of the Screen Actors Guild? A quote from Arnold saying he is finished with acting? His website makes no mention of him giving up acting. Because he's not filmed a movie since 2003 does not mean he's retired as an actor. As per WP:BLP I'm reverting back until a source is posted. --Yankees76 15:49, 6 October 2007 (UTC)
"Being on hiatus" does not mean that Schwarzenegger has given up or quit acting. There are plenty of inactive actors who are still members of the Screen Actors Guild. It simply means that for the time being (while he is busy being the Governor of California), he is no longer active as an actor. That's all I was trying to illustrate with my edit. The actor infobox says "years active", and since he hasn't been active as an actor since 2003, I feel that the box should reflect this. If and when Schwarzenegger becomes active as an actor again, the infobox can be updated. Example: If Schwarzenegger returns to acting after his current term as Governor expires, the info box would read "Years active: 1970-2003, 2011- ". What is wrong with that? I will not bother reverting your reversion of my revision of your reversion, as I do not wish to engage in an edit war with you, or be accused of being uncivil. Have a nice day! Citizen Dick 16:04, 8 October 2007 (UTC)
How is "active as an actor" defined? Arnold has made numerous TV appearances (The Apprentice, Extreme Home Makeover etc.) during the time that he has been Governor. Not to mention 2005's "The Kid & I". --Yankees76 13:00, 9 October 2007 (UTC)
Those television shows which you cite are considered "reality shows", and most of the people who appear on them are not actors, but contestants. Arnold Schwarzenegger made a cameo appearance as himself in The Kid & I, so that cannot really be considered acting. Since you seem to be the self-appointed guardian of this article and you obviously object to any constructive edits to it, I'll let you have your way. I have no interest in conflict with someone who I believe is an unreasonable editor, and I do not wish to be antagonized or goaded into incivility. Citizen Dick 18:00, 9 October 2007 (UTC)
Please assume good faith when editing Wikipedia. It's not my intention to be the "guardian" of any article. I'm simply asking you to provide reliable sources for your assertions, which is certainly not an unfair request. Since this is a biography of a living person it's important that the information is correct. This discussion is not about "letting" one editor or another have their way - it's about following Wikipedia rules and guidelines to create an accurate article. Saying that Arnold Schwarzenegger is no longer an actor because you don't consider his movie cameos/voiceover work or apperances on reality TV shows since 2003 as "acting", does not adequately satisfy Wikipedia's verifiability policy, and is therefore considered your own original research. Because it can be easily verified that Schwarzenegger has "acted in a dramatic production" and "worked in film, television, theatre, or radio in that capacity"[9] (and has done so since he's become Governor) he is considered an actor. Since there is no Wikipedia consensus as to how long or even if a "hiatus" removes the designation of actor or not, to state he ceased being an actor in 2003 without this information being published by a reliable source, cannot be considered a constructive edit. --Yankees76 19:41, 9 October 2007 (UTC)
Ok then, I will assume good faith and take your word for it that my edit to this article was not constructive. However, I have one question for you... If the criteria for being an "actor" is simply someone who has made a cameo appearance as himself in a movie and/or "worked in film, television, theatre, or radio in that capacity", then can't anyone who has appeared in said work can be considered an actor? Didn't former New York City mayor and current presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani appear as himself in a number of movies and make appearances on a number of radio and television shows[10]? Can he now be considered an actor?
By the way, I do appreciate your civil tone in this discussion, and I was in no way implying that you are an "unreasonable editor". I was simply making a generalization, as I have had past conflicts with editors who have acted as though a wikipedia article which they have contributed to was their own personal property. I wanted to make it clear that I did not want to engage in an edit war or incivility with any editor, and I will not be goaded into doing so. Citizen Dick 10:30, 10 October 2007 (UTC)
No problem. I don't think I've contributed enough to this article to make it my own though, however I have noticed that his article is a problem article when it comes to unsubstantiated material being posted in it (his height, his father's past, steroids, health scandals etc.) as well as random vandalism, so I've tried to keep an eye on it and remove anything that is obviously wrong or could be contentious. With regards to Guliani, that would be something that the community would have to come to a consensus on. I think Schwarzenegger is more comparable to Jesse Ventura with regards to a political figure being considered an actor or not, as both are known to be actors and that information is easily verifiable should a reader check for material that supports the content in question; whereas 'Guliani' and 'actor' is not easily linked when searching to verify such a claim. My personal opinion is that Guliani's acting resume is not notable enough to consider him an actor (his own Wikipedia entry makes no mention of any roles), and I don't beleive he would be a member of the SAG either. With regards to Schwarzenegger though, I beleive he is rumored to be doing voice work on the upcoming animated film Crood Awakening though I'm looking for a reliable source that confirms the cast. --Yankees76 13:00, 10 October 2007 (UTC)

Who is Chris?

The article says "Chris was born in Thal, a small village bordering the Styrian capital Graz, and was christened Arnie bla bla bla". Did Arnie had some other name or something? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.165.146.90 (talk) 17:45, 12 October 2007 (UTC)

It's just vandalism... --Yankees76 19:40, 12 October 2007 (UTC)

Political positions?

Curiously, there is not a political positions section. It's probably a good idea to start one.--Gloriamarie 07:29, 14 October 2007 (UTC)

Personal Life

I don't know what the protocol is for Personal Life sections in Biographies of living people, but this section seems to divulge unnecessary levels of detail where family is concerned... Descriptions of the full names and schools of all children, in addition to a family mass schedule, seem to be an excessive level of information.

This appears to be not only an issue of privacy, but also potentially an issue of safety, given that the mentioned children are those of a highly public politician AND international celebrity. In other articles about living celebrities, a simple list of the first names and birth years of children seems to suffice. perhaps that should be adopted here.

This issue is also reflected at the page for Maria Shriver.

etymology of "Schwarzenegger"

Mention what "Schwarzenegger" means. Schwarz means black, but negger?

Mention it near the top of the article, or in a WP:TRIVIA section. Jidanni (talk) 20:16, 17 November 2007 (UTC)

"Eggen" means "to harrow", "Egger" refers to someone harrowing. Of course we can't be sure. 91.23.215.252 (talk) 22:03, 29 November 2007 (UTC)

I did a little research and there's a town named Schwarzenegg in Switzerland. "Schwarzenegger" could also mean "someone from Schwarzenegg" or both names could share a common source. 91.23.215.252 (talk) 22:07, 29 November 2007 (UTC)

Jingle All the Way

Someone forgot to mention Jingle All the Way in Arnold's filmography. It is by far his most important movie and really should be here. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 132.236.113.96 (talk) 04:01, 21 November 2007 (UTC)
