The SVGs

edit

Is it OK to replace a picture (that shows the actual design) with a drawing? If SVGs are prefered over JPGs or other formats, please, at least make a suitable copy! Thank you. ES Vic (talk) 20:44, 2 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

There is no actual design, just a sugestion (that it is used or not; lately, the used models correspond to the model suggested in the annex for uniformity). The Coat of arms are defined by law, and the law is a text. The text does not describe the shape of lions, aquila, manteau etc. Just the element, position and heraldic color. I've seen at least 4 models of the 1867 coat of arms and 2-3 of the 1872 one. Here is the law from 1872: [1]. Now please tell me the shape of the heraldic animals there, number of folds of the manteau, or number of pearls in the royal crown. Is it supposed to have only pearls or rubins also? How many and what shape must they have?... You see what I mean?--Alex:Dan (talk) 19:44, 8 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Possible move

edit

Should this article be moved? My first thought is that the title sounds like it should be at Coat of arms of Romania, but the content looks more like the beginnings of a Romanian heraldry article (which I seems to be missing, as it redirects back to here). Should we just propose to move over redirect and start from here on an article for Romanian heraldry? Any thoughts? Wilhelm_meis (talk) 00:03, 9 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Aaah... the sound of crickets chirping. Should I presume the silence to mean no one cares if I move this article? At the present moment, Romanian heraldry (of the Heraldry by country series) redirects here. This page, with some work on WP:PROSE, would be a good start on such an article, and again, the title 'Coat of arms used in Romania' sounds a lot like 'Coat of arms of Romania' and is not a good fit for this list of many Romanian coats of arms. Buftea as Ilfov's county seat?

edit

Since Ilfov County Council is based in Bucharest and Buftea has 5 not 7 towers, how is this Ilfov's County Seat? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bigshotnews (talkcontribs) 04:04, 2 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Good question. I learned (in school) that Buftea is County seat. The five towers of the crown are for the town status. All the others are Municipalities (hence the seven towers). I will ask questions to find out the answer, because it is very odd for Bucharest ot be at the same time, county seat dor Ilfov and with a distinct administrative status. --ES Vic (talk) 16:05, 3 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
