Just want to make sure I understand this. So what the article is saying is that in certain countries, like Argentina, they play two half year regular seasons but call or consider them tournaments. Each winner is considered a national champion. But in other countries, like Peru, they play two half year regular seasons but call or consider them tournaments. Each winner then faces the other at the end of the year and the winner is declared the national champion. Correct? Also, Brazil is the only country in South or Central America that has both a regular season champion and a separate cup-based national champion, similar to European countries (ie the way England has the separate Premier League champion and the FA Cup champion). Puerto Rico Soccer League

According to the league's own page it has switched to a Apertura–Clausura system for 2010. That would also mean that the map on this article's page would need to be updated. JohnnyPolo24 (talk) 15:24, 16 March 2010 (UTC)

Apertura and Clausura → Apertura and clausura – Am I missing something here—namely, a reason to go against WP:NCCAPS? Discussed as general concepts, these aren't proper nouns, and it's not like they're even loanwords from a language that would regularly capitalize them, such as German. --BDD (talk) 14:58, 19 May 2016 (UTC)

• Support as they aren't proper nouns. We'd use "Open and closed" not "Open and Closed", so no different just because they're in Spanish. Joseph2302 (talk) 16:13, 19 May 2016 (UTC)

• Oppose - They are proper nouns to refer to the two stages of league competition. There is no such thing as "Apertura and clausura". These are two separate tournaments, this is an article on two separate concepts and as such it is right that they are individually capitalised per WP:NCCAPS which states as its opening paragraph: Do not capitalize the second or subsequent words in an article title, unless the title is a proper name. For multiword page titles, one should leave the second and subsequent words in lowercase unless the title phrase is a proper name that would always occur capitalized, even in the middle of a sentence. • Aren't we talking about the difference between a "football league" and The Football League, though? GiantSnowman, it looks like those results are about specific tournaments. So while you could say "Leicester won the League this year", you wouldn't say "Leicester, Bayern, and Barcelona won the League", would you? Also, that's still so shocking.
