If it really matters... His father, a radiologist, comes from Arkhangelsk region of Russia. Thorought his childhood the family maintained Lithuanian culture and language at home in Antakalnis region of Vilnius. It was a deliberate choice to prefer Vilnius 18th secondary school for his education in spite of then-available nearby Russian language schools.
