Most of this information comes from the chronicle- "Itenerarium Peregrinorum et Gesta Regis Ricardi" found @ http://www.yorku.ca/inpar. In addition, information about the domestic life of Andre de Chauvigny can be found in the "Treaty of Gaillon (1196)" http://www.unicaen.fr/mrsh/crahm/revue/tabularia/pdf/desire.pdf Dragon1

What's your source for his death in 1203? Cokayne thinks John starved him to death immediately after the battle, and quotes the local Chronicle for the date of death. Assassiné is, I think, consistent with this. Septentrionalis 18:46, 11 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
