Needs major editing

The film basis part reads like an essay that someone wrote, including cliff notes and personal opinions... Replacing it with a regular movie summary that someone can add to.

It needs a better plot summary.

Here it says Olmos applied for and was granted a concealed weapons permit; if you look up the Mexican Mafia it says the permit was denied? What's the truth? What else in the article is false? --Freepablo 08:30, 3 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Well, I placed that info in the article at one time and I think I had a source for that. I'll do some research and see what is going on. Can you please place a reference about what you mentioned. If the info came from a web site, well do they have a neutral source re that piece of information. Let's not jump into hasty generalizations about the article from one potential problem area. We'll get it straight. Off to dinner, and I'll work on it when I return. Oh yes, when writing on the TALK page good grammar is expected.Luigibob (talk) 00:51, 9 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Put together the movie dramatic crap, I don't know about MM and I don't want to know first hand anything more about prison. I guess if that was the life I chose ivy best at what I do putting that with the movie it's hard for me to relate it would not have happened the way the movie shows. Also there was a movie blood in blood out now I don't know if how they match up comes two characters I know that they don't use the name but I have been told blood in blood out is more realistic when it comes to politics,my crazy Life is another one of those Mexican speed gang goes prison gang movies. When it comes to American me Edward James olmos character deep into situations I would not the rest of the world to know about me whether they're true or false. Please correct me but the term Beasley I think that refers to a white Anglo-Saxon who decides to go Mexican or with the Mexican Mafia Street gangs. This movie could have been done so much better didn't have to use real people's names without their permission but that's how they get better. The godfather that happened very slow parts in it didn't it. What about part 3? Now did they have the Departed which is about a bunch of stinking rat moles and the way it plays out really could have caused a lot of problems with whitey Bulger. I guess it's better that the movie came out after they caught him maybe you'll after he died, is he dead. And again the movie with Johnny Depp playing him that was a pretty good one and in comparison to blood in blood out in American me Im left you only compare the other movie The Departed and the Johnny Depp version which one more in line with what really was going on. Go to Gangs of New York, and some of the characters in there boy I wish there were more movies about white people more black people or brown people or yellow people it may sound racist but you can put down if it is a movie to do with violence and the Asian culture you'll have ninjas and the Chinese Mafia depending on what era they're talking about, if they're talking about a movie in the 1800's in America he's going to have blacks and whites in it and a few Indians.lol If it's from the 90s 80s 70s with blacks I think for the most part we all know it's going to be about Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, maybe Philadelphia ECT. You're doing a movie about white people during that time it's going to be Hells Angels, serial killers, Irish mob...ECT. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Anutforajaroftuna (talkcontribs) 02:52, 4 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

He spent 18 years in prison but he's adjusting to 30 years being absent from society? How is 30 = 18 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.245.213.213 (talk) 14:34, 24 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Real EME's political leanings, necessary to a film synopsis?

edit

Pointing out that the person who character Santana is based on tried to steer the real La Eme gang into "left wing activism", and "unsuccessfully", seems a bit hyperbolic, and totally unnecessary to a film synopsis or even the background of a film. Nowhere in the film are La Eme's political leanings, that don't directly involve prison gang business, discussed. So why would they be discussed in the film's background? La Eme not having killed the person Santana is based upon, and another prison gang killing him instead, is indeed relevant. The reasons as to why, which are not germane to any part of the film, however, are not. Such content would seem more relevant on the La Eme gang's own wikipedia page, not on a fictional film's page that is only loosely based on the gang, and which doesn't cover the politics of the gang in the slightest. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.208.98.232 (talk) 07:37, 4 March 2013 (UTC)Reply
