request to remove a PhD student from the list
editThis edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered. |
Hello - could someone make an edit to this article please? It's about me so I shouldn't do it myself of course. Please remove Gail Murphy as one of my PhD students -- I should not get credit here. Her PhD advisor was actually the late David Notkin. I was the chair of her supervisory committee, but really only one of her dissertation readers in terms of what I actually did. (What happened is that Gail and David were doing a startup, and some university oversight committee, to avoid any possible conflict of interest, asked that she formally have a different supervisory committee chair.)
I did edit Gail Murphy's wikipedia page already (hopefully that is ok, since it is so minor). Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by ABorning (talk • contribs) 03:50, 9 April 2021 (UTC)
ABorning, Can you provide a reference for the fact that you are stating from which it can be verified publicly? Chirota (talk) 23:50, 7 May 2021 (UTC)
Chiro725, here is a reference: Gail Murphy, Lightweight structural summarization as an aid to software evolution, PhD dissertation, University of Washington, 1996, page viii. "First and foremost, I thank my advisor, David Notkin. ... I also thank Alan Borning and Nancy Leveson for their constructive comments; they greatly improved the quality of the dissertation. I also acknowledge Alan's help in serving as the Chair of my Supervisory Committee under rather strange and interesting circumstances."
