Al Hadd SCCHidd SCC – The club is originated from the city of Al Hidd (same problem of nomination), the team have the same name Hidd (not necessary to put Al, it's like (The = Al). we can see the profile of the team here. Fayçal.09 (talk) 22:20, 10 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

  • Oppose. I get the impression that when an Arabic name starts with "Al" = 'The', the "Al" is often treated as part of the name, and kept. It is different from in English; removing initial Arabic "Al" can change meaning, e.g. Arabic الجبل الكبير "Al Jabal al Kabīr" = "the Big Mountain", but جبل الكبير "Jabal al Kabīr" correctly = "the Mountain of the Big One", despite English-speaking atlas-makers often removing the first "Al". For an English example of retained initial "The" on a placename, see "The Homestead" inside the large green outline on this map; also, many Norwegian placenames end in "-en" = 'the'. As regards "Hadd" versus "Hidd", best find an Arabic example with the Arabic vowel signs marked. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 08:42, 11 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
