Image edit

The image given for this song, while not inappropriate, is very far from ideal. I'm not really clear about uploading images and fair use and that sort of thing, but it seems to me that the image on this page would be an ideal choice. Maybe somebody else can do what's necessary to use it? --MQDuck (talk) 01:44, 29 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

"music video" edit

If you see the short musical film Fats Waller made, he totally undercuts the lyrics of the song, and it's pretty clear that he is "misbehaving"... AnonMoos (talk) 18:41, 2 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Melody is in The Jazz Singer from 1927 edit

The beginning of the song Ain't Misbehavin' is played on piano with bass clarinet in the beginning of the movie The Jazz Singer starring Al Jolson, which came out in 1927 - YouTube link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tl4uSBWYaLg - [1] Check it out on YouTube. The article says the song was released in 1929, two years later. Granted, there aren't any lyrics sung here, so this does not count as the complete song, but perhaps a mention should be made regarding it's inclusion in the film, considering that The Jazz Singer is considered a seminal work, as according to the Wikipedia page [2] Lance Vallis, lancevallis@gmail.com67.171.141.66 (talk) 07:04, 14 October 2013 (UTC)67.171.141.66 (talk) 07:08, 14 October 2013 (UTC)67.171.141.66 (talk) 07:10, 14 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

– The 1929 song should be the primary topic, because the song is a 1920s jazz standard. None of the other topics with the "Ain't Misbehavin'" title even come close to the cultural impact of the song. Two (Ain't Misbehavin' (Clark Terry album) and Ain't Misbehavin' (musical)) were inspired by the song. Arbor to SJ (talk) 19:39, 6 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

Then, using the same pageview tool, West Side Story should be a disambiguation page because the article about the film has had slightly more page views than the primary article about the musical within the past two months. Also, pageviews show that The Sound of Music (film) has more page views than The Sound of Music, so should that be a disambiguation as well? Arbor to SJ (talk) 21:06, 6 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

  • Oppose. The pageview analysis shows that the musical gets half as many hits again as the song. There is no WP:TOPIC.
WP:TITLECHANGE also needs to be considered: "If an article title has been stable for a long time, and there is no good reason to change it, it should not be changed". Narky Blert (talk) 12:52, 7 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
