Virginia explains it all edit

Sadly, the Virginia Department of Health explains the age of consent, but not so well.

Here are two sources:

Both versions of the Virginia statutory rape page have very similar wording, but the old version gives the impression that it's concerned about trying to be helpful rather than merely citing legal facts. But in both cases, the actual verbiage is poorly suited to the intended audience, i.e. teen-agers who can really be confused about what it actually means.

My main point is that there is an audience out there that needs this information, but (my contention being) theyt can't reasonaby be expected to grasp it in this form, and if that segment of the audience matters to us, we should seek to do a better job than Virginia has done. Map removed edit

The map was recently arbitrarily edited so that almost all ages in Mexico would appear as "18", without any justification. Such an unstable reversion cannot be allowed, the map is simply wrong and should be removed. 2800:150:105:144F:98E5:E65A:12E6:A812 (talk) 18:56, 20 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

Raising age of consent in spain is wrong edit

The article states that age of consent was raised in spain on 2015, but it happened on 2013 and the quoted articles are talking about a whole different law that didn't include those provisions. 137.101.56.213 (talk) 18:24, 10 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

Vatican City age of consent edit

Hi, I don't know why both the map and the article say that the Vatican City State has no age of consent but a law that prohibits extra-marital sex. That's completely inconsistent with what is written in the Vatican section of the Ages of consent in Europe article.

There appears to have been a direct source to the law which stipulates an age of consent of 18, but it looks dead and I'm not sure if I can find an original copy easily.

Either way, there's no source whatsoever which says the contrary, i.e. that the State prohibits (and punishes through its legal system) all extra-marital sex while condoning it regardless of age inside of marriage. Also, consider that Vatican City civil and penal law heavily draws upon respective Italian law (when the State was born, in 1929, it adopted Italian law en bloc with minor adjustments to substitute things like references to "the King" with "the Pope"). Until 2000, all new Italian laws automatically transferred into Vatican law, unless explicitly opted out during a "grace period". Cabaret Voltaire 1916 (talk) 15:23, 19 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

Graphic overview full of errors edit

In the graphic overview of age of consent, there are several errors. For instance in Denmark and Sweden the age of consent is 15, but the light blue colours in the graphic overview says 14. This should be corrected. 217.71.1.184 (talk) 21:11, 22 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
