Talk:Afghanistan–Iran relations

Move

edit

On 3 February 2009, H falcon moved this article from Afghanistan-Iran relations to Iran–Afghanistan relations. Normally, in order to avoid any appearance of favoritism, the names of the counties are placed in alphabetical order in lists and in the titles. If there is no compelling reason for the change made by H falcon, this article should be restored to the original title. --Bejnar (talk) 18:25, 17 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

biased source

edit

"Some of these Afghans living in Iran are often discriminated, persecuted, tortured and executed by hanging." This sentence give a wrong impression. It's right that some Afghani refugees get discriminated or persecuted but it's absolutly bullshit to say they get tortured or executed for nothing. The most executed Afghanis in Iran were drug smugglers and in I.R.Iran law you get executed if you smuggle a very larg amount of drugs. dosen't matter which nationality you are, also a lot of Iranians get executed for this contravention. taking this biased source in Wiki is not Ok! ~~

Removed biased nonsense

edit

This article was under heavy nationalistic fire by some Pashtun nationalist who has been banned already. I removed his nationalistic idioticy and edited and added some good un-biased factual info. Refrain from nationalistic idioticy, people. For example, present day Afghanistan had been annexed by various Persian Empires such as the Achaemenids, Parthians and Sassanians, but none of these were mentioned, but only the defeat of Safavid Persia by Pashtun tribes(DUH..). Sure, the defeat of the Safavids by the Hotaki's was a great commemoration in the still mostly dark history of the Afghan people, but stay un-biased. Nationalistic nonsense won't help improve articles.

Proposed merge with Iran's rights to the Helmand water

This topic is already covered somewhat in the Afghanistan–Iran relations article, but the sources in the new article could be used to expand upon the topic for a more complete view of the situation. --ElHef (Meep?) 00:05, 9 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

I would have to agree to the merge because this a very specific topic, and not one that people would usually consider looking up. I suggest that expansion to the stub could be very comfortably done inside of the Afghanistan-Iran relations article. ~ Anastasia (talk) 22:47, 13 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Merge from Drowning of Afghan refugees in the Hari River

edit

@Johncbod: why do your want to merge Drowning of Afghan refugees in the Hari River with this article? The subjects are different enough to warrant separate articles. --Danre98(talk^contribs) 12:03, 19 September 2020 (UTC) Oops, @Johncdraper:. Pinged wrong user.--Danre98(talk^contribs) 12:04, 19 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Danre98: Because it provoked an international incident, because I see the article as most relevant to Afghanistan-Iran relations and because the whole page could be condensed to around three paragraphs under an appropriate main heading. It should probably also get a mention or See also (if the page is not merged) on Afghanistan–Iran border. Hope this helps. Johncdraper (talk) 12:23, 19 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
