Talk:Adipocere

I tried to add a citation for [1] for the 100 years quote, since it appears to be taken directly from this source, almost word for word. However, I really don't know how to write references and I didn't do it right. Could someone fix it?--Drkslvr (talk) 20:34, 30 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

The link to Soap Lady the book is obliquely relevant - according to the Amazon blurb the author was inspired by Mutter Museum's Soap Lady, but since the article doesn't say anything about it (yet?) I don't think it really belongs. Wegsjac 21:35, 29 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

other uses of 'adipocere' term edit

This month's Archaeology magazine describes a cask of milk found in Ireland that has aged into waxy 'adipocere'. Beadtot 64.136.26.230 (talk) 13:28, 30 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Edible edit

Is it edible? Can we get some nutritional values for this in the article? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.226.5.206 (talk) 15:47, 15 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

new material to consider edit

I have come across an article entitled "Adipocere: What is known after over two centuries of research" published in Forensic Science International (2011) that can be used to considerably improve the Wikipedia entry on Adipocere. Please consider it. Link: http://www.pawsoflife.org/Library/HRD/Ubelaker_2011.pdf Ninioelninio (talk) 15:49, 11 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Chemical composition, applications edit

It would be nice to have a summary of the composition, and list of potential (or past) applications. I remember reading some time back about its use in medieval France for soap and candle making, I think. Macabre, but it's only chemistry, afterall :) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.10.128.192 (talk) 01:51, 3 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
