"Gesture" text edit

This text was recently added to the article - "On August 2 Kwasnik was involved in an incident involving himself an the Sydney FC Crowd during a pre season match play at Win Stadium. After seeing Wellington Phoenix score he ran to the crowd and made a gesture with his two hands and then made a gesture with his two arms this gesture generally interprets 'Fuck You'"

So as to assume good intentions and that this was a misunderstanding, I'm going to clarify this here rather than writing it off as vandalism. The gesture referred to, if I am not mistaken (I didn't see it) is mostly likely the "Phoenix symbol", a hand gesture often used by Phoenix players after scoring. It involves linking the thumbs and outstretching the fingers so as to create a shape that looks both like a Phoenix and the letter W. It has no offensive connotations whatsoever.

IMHO, if it were an offensive gesture, nothing beyond "...he ran to the crowd, two whom he displayed an offensive gesture" need be said. Also - I'd hardly call this an incident since there has been (too my knowledge) no complaint laid and nothing in the media about this. Gialloneri (talk) 06:08, 4 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
