to whoever's editing - shouldn't the note 2 refer to Richard Butler, 3rd Viscount Mountgarret? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Butler,_3rd_Viscount_Mountgarret the 1st Viscount died in 1571. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.96.149.155 (talk) 20:41, 7 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

respectfully ask for some historical proof and citation for this remark esp the myth.

"Another persistent myth is that all Irish Catholics were to be forcibly removed to Connacht, but in fact the majority of the population remained at home, being needed as servants and tenant farmers by the new ruling class"

Sir William petty even remarks on the mass decrease in the population and wage rises in Ireland because of loss of people — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A00:23C5:9483:A600:4964:BD54:8D1:6299 (talk) 16:28, 15 August 2020 (UTC) There is not point editing Irish History pages on wiki. Absurd calling it a myth when Gookin and Petty mention the loss of people. perhaps this is written for children in the "Anglo sphere" who are unable to read original sources? there is a reason Irish have a strong Bardic History. laughable — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A00:23C5:94A3:1700:FD26:1307:6D46:64A6 (talk) 09:30, 5 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
